WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AIDAN RILEY

I've seen tougher looking altar boys.

that was then....we have now :)

Adelaide injury list

This site suggests it's a broken leg in R15 this year. Cute of the MFC presser to ignore that and talk about his broken arm early in the season.

Cute...

Why not mention it Matt? It will take the pressure off the kid when he gets bombarded on twitter about why he isn't training, where is he, etc.

Just mention he is still recovering from a broken leg.

And I hope we gave him a 2+ year contract - 2014 is as good as done unless he can get a decent amount of pre season into his legs, one of which is broken...

Though none with a more frightened face Bitty. Or maybe not......

Very much in the style of Sloane. Similar height and weight. Ferocious attack on the footy. All good from me.

I wonder if that was him I noticed in the Pre Season footage in the website I couldn't recognize..??

Are we sure he's still recovering from a broken leg?

I thought I saw him a couple of times in the footage of preseason training on the club website today.

what did he actually break though... Ive done my fibula skiing ( in past ) and been running on it in 4weeks.. ( not very well...but still )

I did my tib and fib many years ago, I was in plaster for 6 months, it was a spiral fracture, pretty nasty, they pin them nowadays.

Still haven't included him in the team photos on the MFC site. Should be updated soon with the new draftees.

I spoke to him at training and took his photo, it's on my twitter, his recovery is where it should be, he was leaving to do off legs work with Dean Kent, no limp, no strapping

I would be more interested in training photos posted on this site than twitter; I can't understand the fascination of people trying to build up a twitter following.

I guess it's some sort of ego stroking.

Interesting looking at your twitter you seem to try and interact with the players with the thousand of times you talk to them, not one of them ever reply back to you...?

Does anyone know if this bloke will be right to go round 1. I like what I've seen of him.

I'd say a significant ankle injury in round 15 would mean that whilst he would be fit to play in round 1 he probably wont be at his best until much later. With only 2 nab challenge games and both on them coming early in the year and a delayed start to VFL I wouldn't expect to see him until round 5 or after.

Gee some of the posters on here really have some issues, you do need to get out from behind the keyboard

I don't tweet to get replies, they only reply amongst themselves, opens the door for trolls, why they don't come on here as well.........I get acknowledgement when I talk to them or they favourite it.....not really bothered, put the photos there for anyone that is interested

Hence why I spoke to Aidan and took his photo, asked him about his leg, like I do with all the players, if you don't want to read it then don't

One reason may be that it is a simple matter of uploading an image to Twitter. To show photos here requires a Tumblr (for example) or similar account to which you upload images and then link to them from here. So, it may just be he posts to twitter for convenience sake.

Twitter is far from ego stroking as the only people who see your posts are those who follow you. Personally, I like twitter as a great source of information as many journos, people with links to the arts etc have accounts and post links to breaking news, events etc.

He's just been unlucky.

TWIT ter....enough said

I sure the Carrots consider themselves less than ordinary !! but fair enough :)

We might be missing a soul, but the rest of the package is pure awesomeness.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
