R.I.P. Demonology

I have had my yikes with KD/RGRS in the past but I will give him some kudos here.

No negativity? Imagine if that rule had been in place after the round 2 game this year?

'Oh tally ho and zing zang spillup. What a corking performance by the boys on this fine autumn eve. They scrapped, they tackled and threw mud in their eye but the chaps from the Same Old Essendon were their better. Three rousing cheers for the coaches and selectors who are not merely an ornament to the game but perhaps to life itself. HUZZAH, HUZZAH, HUZZAH!'

Give me a break.

I barely ever visit 'Ology. That will be now 'I never visit 'Ology'.

I'm Clintosaurus over there as well. Haven't posted for a while though.

It would be good if the old world order was restored. I do miss the banter with Gaunt, obster, kingcouttsy etc in the EPL thread and getting a lot of laughs in the MFC related threads.

Who are these flogs anyway?

He must be asleep, because he was up very late and the posts aren't disappearing.

For a pretty good timeline, read the deleted threads - they still exist on the site. All you have to do is open the top thread, then press "next thread", instead of going back to the top of the board. Everything is still there.

It has a bit of a horror movie-like feel... Join us.....

PS, kudos to KD for fighting the good fight..

good point chopper

this will show deleted threads.....but won't show indiviually deleted posts unfortunately

I am a long time reader and infrequent contributor to demonology. I live in Melbourne and work in IT - I would be very happy to help create a new demonology if anyone would like some help.

Just a thought.... If you have the same name here as on Ology or you have disclosed your Ology name in this thread, make sure your password is not the same for each. Can someone please tell us where to go to change that here? Thx.

Please stop posting the personal details of people on this site.

I know the information can be acquired publicly but that doesn't mean you can repost it here.

You can wage your wars elsewhere.

My apologies

I wasn't trying to be combatative, I was trying to provide definitive info in direct response to other posters questions but I guess I was probably a bit enthusiastic compared to the purpose of this site.

I understand your position, respect it and won't post it again.

Cheers.

Mainly a lurker anyway, but I was Bananas over there as well.

If you go into the 'Suggestions' board over on 'Ology, there's an old thread called "What is your motivation for coming to Demonology?" that (if you read between the lines) will give some insight into the rationale of these lunatics.

Who is this shadowy D2D? Are they actually trying to drive people away from the MFC? It is seeming more and more like a black op. Neither their website nor Facebook page identifies the people behind it. And yet some dubious, make that odious, on-line character says wait for his board meeting and all will be revealed. Sorry, I have no confidence in their bona fides or competence.

D2D claim they are a supporters group. They even claim I am a member.

I am not, I have volunteered to help at the club.

D2D are a group of individuals that are using the volunteers names to further theirs.

They have an executive committee. It is self appointed. There has been no consultation from this group with the volunteers.

As a matter of fact, some are upset and disgusted with the actions of D2D.

Go dees go, if you post here, this was the tweet:

This was the tweet:

"@ Official Demonology has changed ownership. Shall be able to update you more after D2D Monday Committee Meeting"

Dr Who has taken to deleting all my posts... (As he has yours, anything slightly critical will be deleted, demonology now has no independence, but is ran by a volunteer at the club that the club does not want volunteering anymore)

Interesting to note that the offending tweet does not appear on the list of Tweets on D2D.net.au - that seems odd if not downright deceitful.

Yes, have used this site for years, enjoyed both sites for many years.

I like having both sites, they have their own characters. One site ain't big enough for all of them

http://www.demonology.net.au/

Or, instead of being lazy, you could have searched for it in Google. It's the first link that comes up. Kids today...

Thats what all the fuss is about?

That is possibly the lamest forum ive ever seen lol

Whispering Jack. Sorry I am late to the dance here.

As u r aware we have a volunteer group who are trying to boost the club's membership drive.

Demonology is not a direct adjunct to our group but is being inferred to be so.

The information here will be rattling the management of the club & current & future volunteers, so I intend to clarify publicly the position over this week.

To those who can see that the volunteer group status is being diminished by this - Tx for holding back whilst we sort this out.

And to those who have sent me texts with out identifying themselves - have a look in the mirror.

It is being inferred to being part of the group by Demon2Demon on twitter.

Michael has directly named you as the person in charge of the takeover.

Rome is burning....

I just wish to find out the motives of those who have taken over ology?

What do they wish to actually do?

If it is to destabalize the club the site should be boycotted by all and shut down.

We are all MFC Supporters

The Finale of Breaking Bad is far more exciting.

Try imagining yourself going into a rundown sh*tty old pub... then finding a lot of your old mates are there having a drink.

And they're quite happy where they are drinking draught, even if you might want to go to a flash new pub down the road so you can get a mojito.

That might give you some insight.

This guy has been known as hangon007, Dr Who, and Rassilon on Demonland and has been here for a few years now.

He left around the time he went after Ology...

Yeah, same here.

He didn't get along with many on here.

Can't believe any sane person would give him control of anything not made out of foam rubber.

Don't believe Tim knew who he was handing over to.

Dr Who came onto the site and started fight after fight, just being a shameless troll.

Meanwhile his brother was harassing Tim to take over and clean up the site, Tim wasn't to know he was dealing with the problems brother.

GSmith, who was deleting Dr Who's posts goes on holiday and Who goes berserk, trashing the place. His brother highlights to Tim how bad the boards are becoming.

Dr Who changed names, saying the alias had done its job, outlined above. His brother vehemently denied they were related and stops posting.

They claim it was all done for D2D, something 19 is saying isn't fully correct.

All just a theory but...

I imagine his "identity" and posting history was kept to himself when lobbying for control.

On Friday night the Swans will be seeking to rebound from a challenging start to the season, while the Blues have the Top 8 in their sights after their sluggish start. Saturdays matches kick off with a blockbuster between the Collingwood and Kuwarna with the Magpies looking to maintain their strong form and the Crows aiming to make a statement on the road. The Power face a difficult task to revive their season against a resilient Cats side looking to make amends for their narrow loss last week. The Giants aim to reinforce their top-eight status, while the Dockers will be looking to break the travel hoodoo. The sole Saturday game is a critical matchup for both teams, as the Bulldogs strive to cemet their spot in the top six and the Bombers desperately want break into the 8. Sundays start with a bottom 3 clash between the Tigers and Kangaroos with both teams wanting to avoid the being in wooden spoon contention. The Round concludes with the Eagles still searching for their first win of the season, while the Saints look to keep their finals hopes alive with a crucial away victory. • PREVIEW: Brisbane

And just like that, we’re Narrm again. Even though the annual AFL Sir Doug Nicholls Round which commemorates the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture to our game has been a welcome addition to our calendar for ten years, more lately it has been a portent of tough times ahead for we beleaguered Narrm supporters. Ever since the club broke through for its historic 2021 premiership, this has become a troubling time of the year for the club. For example, it all began when Melbourne rebranded itself as Narrm across the two rounds of the Sir Doug Nicholls Round to become the first club to adopt an Indigenous club name especially for the occasion. It won its first outing under the brand against lowly North Melbourne to go to 10 wins and no losses but not without a struggle or a major injury to  star winger Ed Langdon who broke his ribs and missed several weeks. In the following week, still as Narrm, the team’s 17 game winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Dockers. That came along with more injuries, a plague that remained with them for the remainder of the season until, beset by injuries, the Dees were eliminated from the finals in straight sets. It was even worse last year, when Narrm inexplicably lowered its colours in Perth to the Waalit Marawar Eagles. Oh, the shame of it all! At least this year, if there is a corner to turn around, it has to be in the direction of something better. To that end, I produced a special pre-game chant in the local Narrm language - “nam mi:wi winnamun katjil prolin ambi ngamar thamelin amb” which roughly translated is “every heart beats true for the red and the blue.” >y belief is that if all of the Narrm faithful recite it long enough, then it might prove to be the only way to beat the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Sunday. The Lions are coming off a disappointing draw at Marvel Stadium against a North Melbourne team that lacks the ability and know how to win games (except when playing Melbourne). Brisbane are, however, a different kettle of fish at home and have very few positional weaknesses. They are a midfield powerhouse, strong in defence and have plenty of forward options, particularly their small and medium sized players, to kick a winning score this week after the sting of last week’s below par performance.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?
