Locking down Jesse Hogan

Definitely worth getting into.

Been a year or so since I read the series, I can't remember Nakor - the name sounds Tsurani though??

My favorites were Tomas (pure power) and Meecham (for stealth)!

Nakor is an Isalani "trickster", who is referenced in passing in the Riftwar series, but first appears as a character in the Serpentwar series (I think?). He's a character all the way through and dies in the series before the last one.

Umm. *Way* off topic. We could take it to a thread in the general forum?

Haha, nah it's a book by Raymond Feist called The Magician. Good read if your(sic) into science fiction.

I would classify it as Science Fantasy(I have a signed copy of it). If you want Science Fiction try anything by David Brin

Has there been anything said about the chat Paul Roos had with hogan yesterday?

Roos was seen with Hogan at a Dymocks bookstore purchasing a fantasy/science fiction novel called 'The Magician' and swapping Pokemon figurines with half of the WCE midfielders (but not Cale Morton).

Spoke to a mate who has become pretty good friends with jesse and while she doesn't know anything about the footy side of things it bought a pretty big smile to my face to hear he is absolutely loving Melbourne so far!

If he trades 'Viney the Geodude' I'm going to be very upset.

We've been stuck with a team of Zubats for too long.

Zing!

Talking of conspiracies, I'm surprised that no-one has raised that which is most obvious to me: that members of the board have been in touch with Roos for 6 months (according to GNF) laying the groundwork for this Roos-coup and the it has gone off so successfully while other members of the board flailed away and sank. I think it less likely that the board acted in a coherent and effective fashion on this topic. Somewhere, a group of suits has plotted a way out of the Neeld mess, seen off the Stynes legacy board members and shoved the club away from the Hollywood Boulevard influences within and without.

If true, (perhaps a big if) this is the biggest successful political maneuver at the MFC to be good since..well, since I've paid attention...

All without leaks (except you, GNF).

Now THERE"S a conspiracy theory!

You are on the right track timD. I guess you should look at who has remained on the board.

In late July things went very quite from my source, I was told Melbourne remained confident they would get Roos and that is all. I did not hear anything more until Roos said he was 50/50. In hindsight I probably should not have talked early. Will probably work against me next time.......

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
