Whatever happened to Jared Polec?

Spent the majority of his career thus far injured. Rumoured to be wanting out to come home to Victoria. IF he is fit, he'd be worth chasing, as he would add pace and skill to our midfield and can kick goals.

He is from SA

Right you are. For some reason I remembered him playing for Vic Metro. I've spent too many years keenly interested in the draft now. Hopefully we rise up the ladder next year onwards and so I don't have to follow it as much!

One of my best mates is a die hard Lions member, so I asked him on his thoughts about Polec. He said he looks the goods when he is on the park, but is behind the development of a raft of other draftees over the past few years. Thinks a string of injuries has kept him from developing at the level he could have been, and wonders if he will actually ever be a game winner. I asked him where he thought he would be traded to, and he has heard preference is back to SA but will come back to VIC if it means a "fresh start". If a fresh start is what he is after, he very could well end up in Victoria if the right deal can be struck.

I suppose his "fresh start" depends on the asking price. I would look at swapping players for him, but an early pick is a risk. He should come with a 'fragile' sticker wherever he is traded to.

For me, I think we pass and look at other options that come with far less risk.

Injured a bit ?

Maybe.

You'd think that a recent pick 5 should have enough ability that teams will back their medical staff to get his body right, if that's all it was.

Either way, I'd not offer much for him, and will expect him to only entertain offers to SA clubs.

If you start rating players on their draft number you should get out of the caper before the industry finds you out. His condition may pr may not be due

.

hamish hartlett says hello.

chronically injured in his first three of four years, but he's a natural footballer.

Hartlett was a good footballer from the start. Missed a bit of footy in his second year but has always oozed class.

Polec can't get on the track....period.

Spot the difference?

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
