Viney proud to be a Demon

Featured Replies

Wines and Viney speak with so much drive and passion, hopefully Jack can convince his mate to jump aboard.

When we get our sh*t together, it's a possibilty.

Cant believe how much the absolute champion loves the Demons. I bet when he takes a [censored] in the morning it comes out red and blue. Take note other mfc players. This is the passion and attitude we need

I'm not sure I understand this quote:

"“I want to be part of the Melbourne side that was beaten by one of the expansion clubs to winning a premiership in a few years. I want to be part of history,” he said."

I assume it was supposed to say "I want to be part of the Melbourne side THAT BEATS one of the expansion clubs to winning a premiership in a few years" ?

Other than that, he's saying all the right things and going really hard on the field, it's really encouraging.

No. He is saying he wants to be part of a huge turnaround. From losing to an expansion side, to winning a premiership.

I see where he is coming from. There would be a huge amount of satisfaction from taking a bottom side to the finals and beyond, than being recruited by someone like Geelong and playing in a premiership in your first or second year.

Wasn't he saying he wanted to move from a bad extreme to a good one, ie being beaten by GWS to Premiership?

The club needs to suit up suitable candidates for Jack. He needs to have 5 boys in a hurry. More F/S in 18 yrs just like Jack and Todd. C'mon Demons build a dynasty

A little too much graphic detail Srj but I get your point. :):)

I suppose there is no hope of Vney influencing the other Jack?

This is one kid we don't need to worry about - demon for life

" Jack sh-t ! "

TBH I'd be more worried about the 'blue'.

Excuse me Jack Viney....Please have a good talk to that other Jack..please.

If after you have layed down the requirements and he does still not commit

You can open the door on the clubs behalf...

Biffen knows a bit about scat.

Bbo please....Go to the naughty chair in the corner now....

Is Jess Trengove available? Or possibly Ellie McKenzie

If I was Young Viney I'd have it checked out (especially the red component).

Watts -"You look at the good teams like Geelong and Hawthorn and Fremantle and those kind of things. You've got guys like Selwood, Joel Corey, Stevie Johnson, Sam Mitchell and Jordan Lewis - they stand up and they don't accept that (losing) for their club".

Viney - "Ive just become 100 per cent committed to wanting to do things to improve.

The contrast in attitudes couldn't be more pronounced.

This is why I am excited for our future.... Viney, to me, seems like the type of man that pushes his team mates and him self to be the absolute best they can be.. he is a culture setter.

Players like Viney, Hogan and Toumpas who seriously hurt after a loss, hate losing and not getting the best out of themselves. That is where our future is. Anyone that doesn't fit this future can go as far as I am concerned and this includes Mr Watts.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
