Caro said on 3AW she expects between 6 and 10 AFL players to receive infraction notices.

Note she didn't say "Essendon players".

In all honesty 55 i dont think nor see how Caro could have a clue about what WAD/ASADA intends..its not like the leaky ship of the AFL.

The AFL might have some idea though.

The AFL says it has no idea. This appears to be it's view about whether infraction notices will be issued over the so-called "supplements" investigation - The AFL still believes Essendon will escape sanction over their supplements regime

"We cannot ever rule it out, as we have discussed, but I have no knowledge, visibility or understanding of anything impending."

It is understood the AFL has been in regular contact with not only ASADA, but the Federal Government which oversees the national anti-doping body.

McLachlan had said in August it would take `"definitive new evidence'' for Essendon to be issued with penalties.

The Western Bulldogs have just lured Essendon forward Stewart Crameri, aware that he could one day be dragged back into the peptides saga.

Yet with Essendon sports scientist Stephen Dank still refusing to be interviewed by ASADA that prospect seems unlikely.

I think the AFL would be wise to continue to not rule out the possibility of players receiving infraction notices. This story still has a way to go before it's fully played out.

This is a brave new world for the AFL....its one it doesn't rule or have any significant influence. Its trying to look relevant to it all but in reality its just subservient to the outcome. Must be quite humbling for them.

At some point ASADA will release the final report. They will interview Dank or we will hear about then trying to.

After we will know. Until then we have no idea. Neither does AD.

Vlad is playing a very straight bat to all this. he is all things aside, a very seasoned player in all this rubbish of 'image' etc he knows full well he's for once outside the loop of the real machinations of this event, and the outcome. He's effectively taking a role of me-too, a head nodder !! hes probably practiced the various outcomes and modelled various moods and stern faces to accompany whatever shlt he ends up speaking when the infractions are finally issued.

its all quite fascinating

as much as ive written on this subject heres some more thoughts

people are saying bombers in clear because afl wouldn't let them trade if they were guilty and let another club suffer after the infractions?

my take is that vlad realises that the final report would not come before trade/draft day and the afl can only deal with the here and now.

im sure all clubs knew it was buyer beware time and acted accordingly

my best mate said jobe definitely has a case to answer without any doubt.

the afl cant restrict or let the draft/trade hinge on maybe's

so the doggies have hopefully done their risk assessment and gone ahead with their trade

im still hoping their caught and finish bottom of the ladder for the next 2 years

If anyone thinks WADA is going to allow a precedent to be set whereby a club gets away with avoiding WADA sanctions because no proper records were kept of what was taken and who took what, they are very much mistaken. The investigations of the NRL and AFL clubs involved will be painstaking and drawn out but the players involved will not get out of this unscathed.

....if they are found guilty of taking banned substances. And by the rules nor should they given any exemption. Nor should officials involved.

I wonder how much ASADA/WADA have to go on if Danks wont speak to them........

However if one infraction notice to an Essendon player is issued, then Hird, Thompson, Reid should be finished in the AFL.

And they should hang their heads in shame.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
