Maybe the thing I'm most excited for is the the R in Trengrove, the A in Maloney, the O's in Pedorson, the E in Clarke, the A in Taggart, the U and R and often missing E and S in Burns and quite possibly my favourite the E on the end of Dunne now have a new friend. Welcome to the T in Mitchie.

How does one pronounce his surname?

Is it 'Mickie' or 'Mitchie'?

And not to mention, how good is that first name. If we were to also land Bernie Vince, that would sound like we have signed up someone's grandparents, Bernie and Viv.

That's what I thought, but commentators seem to pronounce it "Mit-chee".

I'm going with "mish-ee" til we hear otherwise.

If it's the French version then it is pronounced 'Mishee'.

If it's the original Scottish version then it's pronounced 'Mee-ch-ee' with the 'ch' sounding like a drawn 'k' as in Loch Ness.

His first name is actually Isaac.

Yes, and Dom Tyson is a leader also. Viney, Tyson, Michie, Trengove and Nathan Jones all have excellent leadership qualities. They will form the nucleus of a strong midfield and leadership group in the not too distant future.

Will be great for our clearance work and that added depth to our midfield. Estactic we got him for the pick we did.

I love McKenzie's heart, but he's such a limited footballer. I hope Roos can turn him into a consistent, reliable tagger, but I won't be holding my breath.

Funny in 2010 he showed actually a lot of promise as a tagger. Was winning the tackles of the competition at one stage, and seemed to win a lot more of the ball compared to his last two years.

Unfortunately his development has stalled and I think he has dropped down the order a fair bit now with the 3 inclusions plus pick 9 to come.

Needs a miracle next year to keep his spot in the side.

No way. Just needs to get back in form. Had an injury interrupted 2012 and start to 2013 and showed what he could do in the back half of this year with jobs on some of the competitions truly elite. The miracle would be if our midfield is good enough defensively and the team is good enough that we dont need McKenzie and that would truly be a miracle if it happened before 2016.

In terms of centre square players McKenzie is still in our top 6 with Jones, Viney, Vince, Tyson and Michie. Still has Toumpas, Trengove, Evans and Matt Jones covered.

I don't know what Bailey and Neeld have done to him, but in his first season I recall being excited at his headfirst attack on the contested footy, long raking kick when he got it to his boot, and even some creative handball.

Come his 3rd season there was very little of any of that left.

He was just a reactive tagger.

In terms of centre square players McKenzie is still in our top 6 with Jones, Viney, Vince, Tyson and Michie. Still has Toumpas, Trengove, Evans and Matt Jones covered.

I'd take Trenners in the centre square over McKenzie every day of the week. Even a slow, lethargic Trenners is a better proposition than McKenzie. Trengove can handball and kick. McKenzie is ordinary at both.
