If he is all these things then i am too as we share the same profession.

You should wear your qualifications on your chest.

He wears them around his neck: alpaca stud.

If he is all these things then i am too as we share the same profession.

Which is the same profession as mine I think.

Dam we did not find him a GF after all.

thank god they are not school teachers, then we would all be in trouble

imagine how good we would be with one of them at the club

Terrible misrepresentation in the title.

It's wholly unsurprising that Hogan isn't rushing to put pen to paper. He hasn't played a game, he doesn't know who is going to coach him in his first two seasons, he doesn't know what we'll be like and he doesn't know how he'll go at AFL level.

If you were him, why would you sign? Even if he is desperate to stay at Melbourne, he will do so much better by waiting and seeing who his coach his, what plans they have for him, how he fits in with the forward line/midfield, and he'll be able to push his value up if he takes his perceived form into AFL.

I'll go out there and say I actually think players like Jack Martin signing up this early are quite silly.

Its been reported today that Jesse wont agree to a contract extension.

He says he just wants to concentrate on getting a senior game next year.

Gold Coast has managed to get an extension out of Jack Martin, butvwe cant do the same with Hogan.

If he doesnt sign by the end of next year, he will be out of contract and everyone will be after him, no doubt throwing obsene amounts of money at him.

Im worried we might lose him.

we cant be so paranoid.

So much can happen in two years, there is NO WAY HE WILL LEAVE if Melbourne gets a gun coach, shows great improvement and signs some high profile players.

We will be fine, just because Jack Martin signed does not mean there is an issue that Jessie hasnt signed

Gold Coast football club has obviously built an organization that players want to play for.

MFC resembles a rabble atm and it's understandable if players don't want to play for MFC.

I love our club, but I also try and see things from a players perspective in terms of what is best for their future.

Players no doubt have love for the club, but there comes a time when staying at the club might not be best for their future.

We owe it to Jesse Hogan to create an environement that players want to play for and see a future in playing here.

PJ has said that as much.

Thank god for Peter Jackson.

Thanks captain obvious.

This is patently clear to any Melbourne supporter.

It's not news that players should be hesitant to sign with our club.

We all know the reasons why.

Why do some feel the need to beat us all over the head with it, with monotony?

So ignorant supporters don't keep whinging that Jesse Hogan hasn't signed, that's why.

It's understandable that people are abit quick to panic but really, why would anyone want to sign when they don't know who the board, president and coach are?

Geez love this thread.

Lets worry about what NEEDS to happen NOW and worry about this type of stuff when and IF it happens.

If we are gunna worry about what's potentially going to happen in two yrs there will be a lot more threads coming.

You wouldn't know it's understandable judging by the responses in this thread, alot of whom have launched into the OP like a pack of teenage girls.

Yes it's premature, but it's something at the back of the mind of alot of Dees supporters, and the ones who say they haven't thought about it are telling porkies. A bit of empathy for a concerned fellow supporter wouldn't go astray, but that's never really been Deeland's strong suit. Attack and shame seems to be the go to option. Some "community".

Demonland is a crazy place even when we're winning let alone having a year like this, but this is a little over the top isn't it?

the kid has two years to run on his contract and he didn't even say he doesn't want to re-sign, hasn't even been offered an extension yet, need to allow some time for the process.

Not really. I do not like mob mentality and I see far too much of it on here, at a time when we should be showing support.

We're all worried and we're all hurting. Can you really blame some irrational thoughts entering the head with the last decade this club has had?

Please P-Man,

I will not hear of slurs and insults directed at all the fine people here on Demonland.

We are a fine, restrained and considered bunch of heretics and loonies, nutjobs and whackos.

"Teenage Girls lacking Empathy" really is insulting.

If you were at mellbourne would you want to re sign. I wouldnt. The guy hasnt even played a game. Just let him play an actual season then Im sure he will re assess. But I dont blame him.

Exactly Biffen I for one do not lack Empathy

I reported this ages ago. The extension offer was ages ago - and at the time he held off in the same way that Watts has. To see what is going to happen - coach, board, direction etc. he isn't going to just leave at first chance. He was once told by someone at the club that they would send the heavies after him if he left.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
