Makes good decisions, kicks beautifully - his handballing needs to get better. I rated him just above Macrae as an under 18. I still rate him as just above him, but both will be very good.

His first half last night was very good. He'll be a gun once he matures and has a season or 2 training in the AFL. He's one of our youngest on the ground and you can see him directing players where to run when he has the ball.

Best kick we have had since TJ

Just hits it perfectly

He knows exactly where to run and how to make the play.

Just wait till he gets fitter and stronger.

Agree this. And has elite skills....a natural footballer.

Nope, not if you saw Wines game against the Pies :-)

Jimmy's disposal efficiency is really deceptive - I thought he hit a lot more targets than the stats are giving him credit for.

He also didn't duck out of contested situations last night.

Much better, here's hoping he keeps improving.

Does this mean that we can stop bemoaning the fact that we took Jimmy before Ollie? I hope so.

The jury will be out for years.

Wines is the type of competitive beast every club would kill for. He was truly sensational yesterday.

Probably not. Wines is turning out a lot better than most thought imo. Deja vu Rich?

But Toumpas very good yesterday.

Won't turn into a Franklin/Tambling disaster.

I love his kicking skills. Surround him with a quality midfield and he will flourish.

Love the fact that Jimmy doesn't kick to where the player is but where to player has to be. Seen it a few times already where he motions the player to lead up to him rather than kick to the contest.

Just watched the replay again, Jimmy T is going to be a quality player indeed. His skills are some of the best we have in the team already, not saying much but they will only improve.

His disposal and decision making is sublime. Just needs to find a bit of consistency and more of the ball (turn those 15 possession games into 25) but he's young and a good egg, I'm sure it will come.

ps. Wines is a beauty but Toumpas was always a better fit for our midfield needs, IMO.

Don't worry, we got our Wines in Viney, whom I think will show himself to be a better player in time.

After what can only be described as a disappointing start to the kid's career and had most of us questioning this selection things seem to be turning around with this kid. His last two games have seen him getting involved and finding plenty of footy. Now I don't want to moz the boy however his kicking in heavy traffic is elite and reminds me so much of Trapper(TJ). Hogan, Mitch, Dawes, Watts and Howe will love this kid over the next decade. Still early days however I am starting to see glimpes of why he went so high in the draft. Definite silver service weapon in the making.

agree, starting to believe we made right choice, thought Wines should have been picked but Jimmy shows he has something, CLASS.

Though we needed an inside (Viney) and a highly skilled runner (Toump) in the last draft, let's not pass up on Luke Dunstan this draft plz.

I like that Toumpas is different to most other draftees killing it atm.

Most are inside beasts, which is great, they are competitive guns mostly.

But Toumpas is more of an outside player and I haven't seen him not hit a target.

He will give us run, carry and accurate disposal going inside and outside of 50.

That is a very handy weapon to have.

Started his career being a bit soft, but careers don't just consist of a few games, thankfully.

These kids don't have it easy anyway, there is a lot of pressure on them - without even thinking of nerves, etc.

His disposal and decision making was first class last night. Looking forward to him having another preseason and getting out there with young Viney.

Wines was sensational against Collingwood.

I think you need to compare like with like. Will Wines be better than Viney is the question?

We didn't draft Wines because we already had a quality inside midfielder in Viney stitched. I think the choice of Toumpas was a sinple one for us and one that will pay dividends but do you think Wines will be a better player than Viney?

He certainly looks more at home - has lost that stage frightened look. Good on him - I think we are on a winner with him.

Enjoying playing without fear and with support.

Looking forwatd to watching a very good career unfold.

toumpas is a much better player than wines with ball in hand, viney is a better inside mid in my opinion so we did okay there

Jimmy's tackle on Will Minson was a standout moment for me. He's got great skills and that showed to me that he isn't afraid to go in hard. Minson's quite a bit bigger in both height and weight, and Jimmy brought him down. He'll only get better.

As one of the commentators said yesterday, something always happens when Wines has the ball.

Toump will be ok but Ollie is going to be a gun.
