You are correct BBO - Toronto Maple Leafs from the NHL, White Jerseys with a Large Blue Maple Leaf on the front

I don't mind the current one, but my all time favourite is this one post-5213-0-09930400-1406296593_thumb.jp I'd be happy just to keep this one forever...

oh no. its a half-way house. looks plastic.

leave the good ones alone. keep the formal emblem, & have another informal Logo with our demon caricature on it for everyday items.

In the main for the wrong reasons

Also re minds me of CS, MN and DM that I am trying very hard to forget

that is not a reason to change it, what change it out of spite.

the emblem we have is fantastic.

you know we have missed many many opportunities along our journey, out of stubborn spite. we could have had Matthews coach us, instead of the Lions. we could have had Sheedy a couple of times.

we could have recruited players & didn't, & we could have kept up with trends in the 60's, & you guessed it.

Like this a lot. Would love it if that was the new official emblem but maybe with "Melbourne Demons" in the ribbon on the front. Simple, strong, and says it all.

it looks like a plastic bumper sticker, but at least guaranteed not to fade, I guess. cold, flat & boring. plaid like the late 60's.

Ah yes, the Melbourne Double Dees. Should entice a few randy japanese exchange students as well, which is a bonus.

There is a lot to fix dee- luded I agree.

This is just a subject discussed in a week when there is not much to talk about.

All my knowledge on logo's says you keep it simple.

Our current logo fails that test.

Just way too busy for me.

agree with you d-l, definitely too plastic and too slick

versus overly complicated and confusing

Tis a fine line isn't it?

I tend to agree the one taken from the Demon lounge is a bit simplistic and sterile.

However, I reckon the one we have is way too busy and incorporates too much historical minutiae.

While I have said we should bring back some form of the old Chinese demon, I can live with a compromise on the current one.

Get the water mark of the original rules off the blue background and then get rid of the Southern Cross on the right side of the shield. Work out a way to get balance back into the overall logo by repositioning the football or trident after that has been done.

Or for those who don't like the 80's Demon, why don't we bring back the 90's one? Simple and to the point and coincided with a decent era (the Balme/Daniher years). Ever since we got rid of it, we have been absolute poo.

that's another story od, but you don't replace flawed with flawed

as for the existing emblem, i don't mind the overall basics but agree a few elements could be removed

it's certainly more emblem than logo and i wouldn't mind the (modified) emblem for more formal use plus a new logo for more informal use

nothing new here, others have said similar

however, i'm sure given time we could come up with 100 great new logos and select one, and then next year we will be back having the same debate. lol

We are only having the debate dc because

- We have had the bye this weekend

- Our season finished some time ago

- it is still a bit early to discuss Recruiting.

There is bugger all else to dicuss

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
