He said best side for development is to play Collingwood hawthorn etc.. yet why wasn't toumpas kent or blease thrown in the midfield to play on a Swan, Pendles or Sidebottom??!!! Blease was left in the forward line the whole time.. Toumpas was playing a loose half back most of the game, and kent was the same with Blease why pigeon hole them in the one spot give them 10 minutes or so on Swan! Who care if he got another 5O possies it would have been a learning curve! but nope he doesn't know how to develop our young kids!

Well i think he actually suggested he would axe the repetitive clanger kings

I think what is holding him back is he will have too many young kids on the ground

He needs to at least try it as he is running out of options IMO

What must Couch, Magner, Taggert and Tynan be thinking

Neeld was a midfield coach and how is it that he selects defenders and forwards to do that job ?

Yes I have. I think you'll find that the technical term for this behaviour is raving nut job. I'm not sure of the Latin

I found this a very interesting comment. Do we axe the guys who keep turning it over and have a team with next to no experience or stick with the older, harder players and cop the clangers? Personally, I would love to see the "Baby Demons" hit the park later in the year and have a crack at it. You never know, they might surprise a few. Certainly Taggert needs to get a run at some point, probably Davis too although I doubt he'd help the clanger situation. I don't think we'll see Barry this year. Tynan hasn't convinced me. Couch a possibility.

What Neeld is actually saying is none of his list has a clue of how he wants them to play.

I just feel numb listening to MN, nothing he says means a damn thing to me. Whatever they are doing in the inner sanctum of this club it means absolutely nothing to the club supporters. The club and its supporters are living in a parallel universe.

You do know the Board and coaching staff are a little behind where they wanted to be!

Love to see what their plan actual was?

For once, he was actually a bit critical and didn't treat us as idiots for at least part of the press conference.

And one senior player he would have been talking about was Jordie McKenzie. In the leadership group so has to be considered 'experienced', and continually fluffed his disposals.

Jack Dyer coined the description "good ordinary player"; McKenzie is an very ordinary ordinary player but he's not alone.

SO, senior players who have been turning it over too much.

Jordie

Dunn

Jamar

Pedersen

Jones

Taking them all out of the side could well improve our disposal efficiency, but it would kill our ability to compete. Who do we have to replace them? Davis is about due for a run, he could come in for Dunn but his kicking is worse. Taggert as well, but there isn't a direct swap in that lot you would make for him. I don't think he has ever played as a HBF before. Couch into the midfield in place of McKenzie? Probably about the same impact, although I trust his kicking more. We have nobody who can ruck like Jamar, although Gawn seems to have a better impact around the ground. PEdersen/Sellar, little difference. Jones is our best player, but he has been missing his targets lately. Even so, no way would you consider dropping him.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
