Why does everyone assume a good player will make a good coach?

We need a proven midfield coach

Neeld was midfield coach of the pies when they won the flag. Our centre clearances against the tigers were good considering their talent.

With regards to Black not every retired player has a brownlow and three flags to their name. There are no guarantees but an assistant couldn't hurt. I'm pretty sure we've got a couple of young mids who would love to pick his brain.

Yes he could be valuable to have around the club but we can't just kick out Royal and replace him with an unproven/qualified coach.

I hope we do try and bring him to the club but if we want him to be a midfield coach we should have him get some experience/training first

Just make it happen and leave open the option of doing a GWS. Yes you can play as well if you are fit to play but we want you as a long term coach.

It is called looking through rose colored glasses and purely based on assumption instead of demonstrated ability

Our current Senior Coach was also a proven midfield coach at Collingwood

See how hard it is to getting it right

Scarlett as back coach, Black as midfield coach, Lloyd as forward coach, and Roos in charge... 3-5 years may not be required... If only... :)

Wouldn't mind seeing Black as a Midfield coach and part time player next year, similar to Junior at GWS, still got some games in the legs.

Even if it is an assistant to whoever is in the full role, he'd be a great asset to the club.

I don't want Lloyd anywhere near our club, if we are going down the ex-player road give me Neita.

Probably the smartest midfielder of the modern era and one of the most underrated players to ever play the game.

Throw him a guernsey, midfield coach/player.

You will never get Scarlett out of Geelong,Black out of Qld or Lloyd out of his own arse.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
