Apart from Tom Mac, there's no let up in sight according to the BAROMETER and Colin Sylvia's out for 3 weeks as well.

Mark Jamar (groin) 1-2 weeks

Jack Watts (hamstring) 1-2 weeks

Jack Grimes (collarbone) 6-7 weeks

Mitch Clark (foot) 6-7 weeks

Jack Trengove (calf) 2-3 weeks

Tom McDonald (shoulder) TBA

This doesn't take into account the obligatory one or two mystery injuries of the week.

IMO, we just swap 8 or 9 players with Casey and be done with it.

Inclusions should be Nev Jetta, Jimmy T and Jack Fitzpatrick as well as Tom.

Fitzpatrick must play, he's kicking goals regularly and we need that, even if they're not neccesarily pretty.

Magner must come in for Sylvia

Nev Jetta to come in for Nicho or Strauss

McDonald to come in for Sellar if fit

Jack watts spoke in Hassatt room on Sunday hoping to play this week.

Jetta spoke as well, he has been told that he has to earn his spot back through Casey as he was suspended.

I hope they make Colin Sylvia do the same.

He will need to learn how to conquer his fear of getting anywhere near the ball....

Ask yourself, if a defender isn't near the ball is that a bad thing?

I'd rather Strauss get 10 disposals and use them effectively whilst his man gets 10 than Nicholson's 20 with 10 turnovers and his opponent get 20.

I think some of those injury projections are from the club's list last week. Let's see what Misson has to say tomorrow.

Casey having a bye last week hasn't helped clarify things.

So, will Magner come in?

Doubtful if you go by this article on the club website - McDonald set to miss two matches

I have the impression from what's written in the article that the club doesn't consider that Mitch Clark or Jack Grimes have injuries that will keep them off the playing field for the 9 weeks (8 rounds + the bye) necessary to be put on the LTI. Therefore, unless there's a mystery injury or retirement, Magner would be forced to wait until after round 11 when the club can activate one rookie elevation without putting a player on the LTI. I'm not that big a fan of Magner (too slow) but with Sylvia's suspension, he might have been handy in the midfield.

There does seem some hope of Jamar, Watts and possibly Trengove coming in so the information in the OP looks to be a bit dated.

WJ, I thought Grimes was already put on the LTI. We just haven't promoted anyone yet.

And from the CBA my reading is 8 weeks, not 8 rounds, same as Gawn was at the start of the season.

Do you guys really think all those players are legitimately injured?

I think their is a possibility some are just being protected from the media due to lack of form

The Age list seems to be more up to date than the one in the HUN:

Mark Jamar (groin) test,

Jack Trengove (calf) test,

Jack Watts (hamstring) test,

Tom McDonald (shoulder) 1-2 weeks,

Nathan Stark (groin) 2 weeks,

Mitch Clark (foot) 5-7 weeks,

Jack Grimes (shoulder) 6-8 weeks.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
