"Reports: Luke Tapscott (Melbourne) reported for rough conduct on Kade Simpson during the third quarter."

Well I guess they couldn't put high contact could they.

I think the umpire reported him solely on the fact that Tapscott cleaned him up - not many players can clean another player up legally.

He made the decision - no real harm done (on us).

Jack Grimes shoulder breaking tackle should get 6 weeks - if they are consistent.

An unlucky accident but they should've taken more care not to injure him.

Nothing will come out of that, if it had been golden boy Judd who was hurt it would have been career over for the offender, but since it was only a Dee who got hurt....

Don't be ridiculous it wasn't even a free and Mclean looked as if he was trying to shift the impact off Grimes. Nothing in it no matter what player or team.

Wow, no need to be rude, all you needed to do was to say you were of a different opinion to me.

Haha. It's a contact sport, ump. Sometimes it is "rough".

I thought it was a ripper bump, myself.

The umpire should be suspended for paying such a ridiculous free kick and report. He must have been totally guessing.

I could see it was a clean bump from level 3 of the southern stand.

I'd love to see a new instruction to umpires. "Only make a call if you actually see it, no guessing!"

Then they might as well stay home, Ralph.

Then they would pay only half the amount of free kicks.

Great bump from Tapscott and he put Simpson on his back again in the next contest. Love him!

Anyone know what Walker did to him to give away that free and goal early on?

Walker hit Jack T in the stomach behind the play. Jack was bent over double for quite some time.

MRP

The match day report against Melbourne's Luke Tapscott for making forceful high contact against Carlton's Kade Simpson was assessed. The ball was loose and Simpson was attempting to take possession. As the Carlton player gathered the ball, Tapscott met him with a bump. After viewing all available footage and speaking to the umpire who laid the report on the day it was the view of the panel there was no forceful high contact in the bump and no further action was required.

Now can we get the free kick back?

I would have accepted this:

After viewing all available footage and using common sense it was the view of the Match Review Panel that Maggot #11 is a moron. The report is hereby thrown out with severe prejudice. Furthermore, Maggot #11 is hereby sentenced to 15 rounds in the ring with Melbourne's Luke Tapscott.

P.S. Good luck mate.

Is there any footage of it? I haven't seen it yet.

Plenty was shown on the TV coverage. The "High" hit impacted on the players hip. His head was about a foot away from any part of LTs body, and clearly in view of the umpire in question.

Wow. What a farce. Remember what they did to Brad Miller. He was actually quite a good enforcer before the tribunal officiated him out of the game.

They would scream blue murder at the pies if it happened to them.

I hope like hell Tappy doesnt change his style one bit.

Must get a minimum 4 weeks for daring to execute a fair bump.

Can't believe he got off!!

The MRP is a joke.

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best.
