Injury List - Round 6 (Mitch Clark 6-8 weeks)

100+ point loss to Carlton coming up this sunday...

Could be ugly. Will Malthouse kill Neelds career after endorsing him?

How ironic!!

Sometimes I think that being dead would be less painful than being a Melbourne supporter.

Now we totes won't make finals.

In a situation like this... only Nicolas Cage can describe my emotional rollercoaster

Reaction to Clark being out for 10 weeks:

Reaction to him being put onto the LTL and a rookie being elevated:

Thinking of Magner or Couch:

Possibility might have a better midfeild and Clark still being able to get a few games at the end of the season/full preseason:

Get better soon Mitch!

Man i hate Nicholas Cage

Bad news came early this week. I was tipping around Thursday for some reason. At least we have longer to recover for our next bit of bad news- it's getting a little easier to cope with now at least.

Sigh.

We can't catch a break. This season is one from hell.

Exactly like the last 6 years GTG

Isn't LTI 10 weeks minimum? As in if a player goes on LTI it is for a mandated 10 weeks at a minimum, then a rookie can be upgraded?

8 weeks I believe.

They may not want to chance it, in the hope that Misson and co. can work wonders and have him back in 6 weeks.

dead set, can this club take a trick?

good luck Mitch in recovery

is there a minimum length a player needs to be out for to put them on the LTIL?

Apparently 8 weeks

That's really tough for Mitch. He is our best forward and is busting his gut for the red and blue.

Sadly this team needs Mitch more than ever, he brings the animal to this team that many others lack.

He might have a new coach when he returns!

So 2 of our highest paid & KPP players (Dawes) injured!

I fear that these 2 guys will hardly get on the park.........

We are Jinxed!

This season needs to hurry up and end start fresh get our hopes up and then get crushed round 1 2014

It's such a vicious cycle being a melbourne supporter

The only thing I'm looking forward to this year is trade and draft time

This season needs to hurry up and end start fresh get our hopes up and then get crushed round 1 2014

I honestly think that if that happens the MCG might literally explode with fury.

I've never seen collective anger like that Rnd 1 game against Port.

Bad news came early this week.

Until Sunday afternoon when we lose by 14 goals.

Don't worry, it won't be long before we all get collectively punched in the nuts again.

Yay for being a Melbourne supporter!

NO! no! NO! Why? Why? Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

You summed up my sentiments exactly.

Is anyone annoyed that we paid a guy big bucks and twice now he has had to miss half a season due to injury. Look I Mitch has been great and I like him but I guess im just frustrated that he is injured once again. Why cant it happen to one of our lesser good players. I know it isnt his fault and he would want to be out on the park.

Im just frustrated because he started off well and his marking is really good and he provides a target. Now if we bring in Dawes people will say we rushed him back to early.

Why cant we just get a break on something

Cant we sneak Hogan in. Hurry up 2014

I am a Melbourne supporter

I have learned to laugh in the face of setbacks and adversity

hohoh hahah

I'm a melbourne supporter and therefore have lost the ability to laugh

Physios or drs in the audience... Could this setback have been caused or contributed to by bringing him in too soon?

BREAKING NEWS Mitch is fine. His injury is not as bad as first thought but he is a bit shorter looks younger has had his tatts removed and for some reason his team mates have nicknamed him 'Jesse' he will line up at full forward this week.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
