Easily the most influential player today, love him.

Some people are getting so excited by this win and individuals they like to see do well...

So far i've seen Byrnes as BOG, Frawley played rubbish, and Max gawn most influential. People still not giving Nathan Jones the credit he deserves

Maxy was very good wasnt he..I thought he was in real trouble after his last injury but I'm glad hes got on the park to play like he did.

Lets see how he goes against a luenberger or the likes before we get to excited but yes very promising game.

Until Jamar is match fit and over his leg injury leave big max in the ruck and rest Jamar elsewhere around the ground maybe when required..

Jamar is still the best ruck we have IMO. Just isnt 100% fit yet.

Thing is Jones always plays to a high level and we all appreciate it, others get the supporters a little excited cos its something new or good form coming back. Jones will have the Bluey wrapped up in 6 weeks time.

He's 110+ kgs and around 210cms, when you get up to that immense size (Sandilands and Bogut the only examples I can think of) injuries happen easily. I pray he stays fit because he could help us get back up that damn ladder.

I love that mark where he held off the two blokes on either side of him then marked the ball, turned around, ran into the goals and nailed it. Pure arrogance.

If he can stay fit he'll be an absolute gun

That was awesome, Moses parting the Red Sea. Those arms pushing out.

It's a very pleasing start to the season for Max.

Jamar is usually poor, yesterday not so much. Getting better. However The Russian palmed only 19% of his taps to advantage. Most of the other big men around the ground had around the 30% mark*.A good ruckman will get 40% +

Unless Jamar marks the ball more, increases his taps to advantage and has a presence around the forward line, his days are numbered. For a big man of his skill and experience, he just doesn't do enough. Spencer has less class than Jamar, but gives so much more effort. And now we are seeing what Max is capable of.

God I hope his knees hold up.

Edit. *From herald sun stats, so may not be correct.

Very encouraging - I don't quite share some of the exictement here and will wait until he grabs 3-4 big scalps before joining many of you. I figure he will get a lot of physical attention in the near future and will be interested to see the response.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
