Dominant quarter by the Scorps 19.9.123 EFC 7.12.54

Kent with6 or so touches and a goal.

Not even MFC could screw up Hogan becoming anything less than superstar.

Playing a full season with Casey and having a second full pre season will do Hulk wonders for 2014.

Very good display from Casey. Spencer dominating, all Melbourne players have been reasonable but Hogan is an absolute jet. Watching him and Daniher is like watching in 10 years time. Nicholson butchers it alot. Magner been serviceable but not amazing, Strauss rebounding been exceptionally.

Kent good offensively but I can see where coaches come from, struggles to run back- though he is clearly trying to work on it!

Half time Casey 11.6.72 EFC 6.8.44

Rodan,Couch and Taggert prominent. McKenzie lots of ball but poor disposal.

Kent I believe has not touched it in the first half.

Poor disposal by Mckenzie no surely not!

I wonder if that was one of the reasons we allegedly payed overs for him - We knew the kind of benefits of having a draftee a year earlier? (Viney)

I would also think having him in Melbourne for 12+ months would help him settle in. Plus he is worth the #3 pick. Happy to have him on the Red & Blue.

Its good to see that he is not a selfish forward nor does he just sit 15m from the goals. He moves everywhere.

I thought the Essendon were supposed to be one of the good VFL teams?

with essendon suspensions they've lost hille, winderlich and pears which hurts them. Plus they'll be holding some emergencies over for their game like us with sellar and toumpas. Not being a VFL side they won't have great replacements.

Anyone watching is Matty bate playing? If so how's he going?

Not sure he was worth a pick 3 at the time though. I think we could have got away with giving up pick 4 and got Barry as well. Who would have been able to better pick 4? Anyway I am stoked we got him and if was given the option now would defiantly give up pick 3 for him (he is like an agile J Brown).

i asked a few weeks ago how the notoriously terrible at player development Demons were able to produce two great KPP's in Neitz and Schwarz and whats so different about our player development these days

Someone reminded me that Schwarz and Neitz came through the under 19's and that may have been a great base for them.

I see Hogans season at Casey as a similar, if not better form of development for him. I am glad as hell he is not eligible to play for the MFC this season as it may have ruined the young kid,

Jesse is going to be a superstar, and this season at Casey is going to be the perfect springboard for his career

Pretty sure we would've taken Toumpas either way.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
