Better effort but we really should be in front. The Eagles are not playing that well. Fundamental defensive errors are gifting them too many goals.

The game is up for grabs but we need to go harder at the ball and our forwards have to get to the front position on every occasion. Why doesn't Bail wear some protective head gear?

We're still not playing through the hot spot enough but I guess old habits die hard. Creating a stoppage in the forward line is all well and good if you're a good team and are good at clearances. It's like turning the ball over if you're a poor team.

We need to be more daring if we're going to win this game. Some positive signs though and a much improved effort.

Hopefully, the boys don't sit back now, contented with their performance so far. Now's the time to put the foot down and stamp a bit of authority onto the MCG.

Come on boys!

He has done some good things but he has also turned it over a few times that has resulted in goals.

As good as we've been, we still haven't won a quarter this year.

Dude, baby steps.

We are 10 down... Points that is, not goals.

I'll take that and run. Seriously.

Good to see a simple game plan and man on man. I can live with one loose man in defense.

We are also taking the game on. We don't seem so terrified to try. I don't care if we stuff up, at least we are trying. What a foreign concept this has been to us lately.

My standouts so far:

Nathan Jones- amazing. Looks like he said "[censored] you all I will play alone in the midfield"

Clark- never ever has anyone been so good at turning dog [censored] into pure gold

Sylvia- I'm shocked.

Davey- see above

Matt Jones- loving him. Great work ethic. Good speed.

Terlich- good work by him. Not afraid to take it on.

Backline is disappointing, especially Frawley.

But whoever said McDonald is a joke, should give himself an uppercut.

Now lets at least maintain this effort in the second half, and I'll be happy.

Good day to be at the G so far.

Turning it over 17% of the time probably qualifies as "a few." He's not been impeccable with his disposal this game, and to argue otherwise would be moronic.

Not good news about Rohan Bail. I believe that headgear does very little to prevent head injuries like concussion as they're caused by the brain being knocked about inside the head. Happy to be corrected on that, though.

I could crack Evans.

Another keyboard hero, I'd say judging by your avatar you'd struggle to crack an egg!

I've heard that too, but today he copped an innocuous knock to the temple area. Surely a bit of padding there wouldn't have gone astray.

Not anymore he aint, shutdown by Selwood

And yes, when are in front i do

17 possessions, was not much of a shutdown, still second highest possession winner in the ground.

Didnt see anything from you when we were actually leading... just slagging our guys.

Good signs. I have 1 big disappointment. Jetta, Tapscott, Evans and Pederson have all come back in and find themselves in 4 of the bottom 7 (incl. sub and subbed off) dream team stats. That doesn't mean a bad game but it means they're not getting involved enough. When you finally get your chance 7 points in a half is not enough from Jetta. Need to lift young brigade.

Agree with all of that.

ive enjoyed the game so far and think this side is more balanced than the last two - the inclusions have generally added rather than done nothing. Would like to see more from tappie, great to see Trengove show a bit more of the old days.

Colin Sylvia - thanks for reminding us that you can play.

Terlich - second efforts - nice to see.

True, but Jetta and Evans have looked ok at times. Tappscott and Pederson havent done much though.

I hope the coaching department don't rely on Dreamteam scores when it comes to making decisions about this club. Jetta, Evans and Peders have all been lively - though of course it would be nice if they could get their hands on it a little more.

What I have seen all of them doing though is apply pressure, which we have been missing,

If Bail is out for the entire game as opposed to completing concussion test, who goes to Gaff who has been unable to provide any outside run.

If we lose but bring same effort as the first half it is a big turnaround from last week

Only able to look at the stats- looks as if we are fading out in "red time" - fitness or concentration?

I shudder to think how bad this midfield would be without Viney and Matt Jones.

Matt Jones has been very good in 2 train wreck games, and again today.

Viney is just something else.

Loving the effort, loving the more daring play-on.

It all counts for nothing if we get blown away, I just couldn't stomach it. Please don't let us down.

Who was I slagging by saying Priddis was all over us, which he was.

Grow up mate and focus on the game instead of worrying about what people are stating about the game.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
