G. LYON - FOOTY CLASSIFIED

Recommended Posts

Love him or hate him he has sway and is an influence at our club.
Hutchy and co. will quiz him about the Dee's tonight no doubt, so i thought i'd start a thread early on what perhaps he will say, what he should say, what he will do, what he should do etc.
Leaving it upon for us sad Demonland fanatics to discuss after what he has said during and/or after.
Could be important, but most likely will be a fizzer and no doubt i'll be wishing i had have gone to sleep instead of staying up and watching it.
(yes i know he has popped up already in other threads but this is in relation to tonight's program as we are yet to really hear from him in regard to the current crisis)

It will be about Garry and he'll offer no real solutions and invariably be a series of cliches that distance him from events. Be great if I was wrong.

He always goes back to "I have nothing to do with the club", "I've been there once in the last 6 months", "I made it clear I didn't want to help and wouldn't be around long"....

Garry only loves Garry.... and money.

He likes to stick the boot in and give us a "rev up", but don't expect anything from him that doesn't suit his media image or make him money.

I can't watch that show with Hutchy, prune face and "Mr Personality"

Just tell me what crap Lyon says.

I am aware and understand how you feel.

Hence why i created this thread for those that can't stand the sight of Craig "I'd sift through my own mothers garbage to get a story" Hutchinson and friends, can then read what Garry "I pop in and out of the MFC to help at MY leisure" Lyon said about us.

I'll try:

'There's a breakdown between the goals of the FD and the Board'

'AFL footy is tough...Melbourne have to stand up'

'It's not Jack Watts' fault...'

'Mark Neeld is the man for the job, it'll take time'

'Who's Cameron Schwab?'

Honestly, I don't know what he'll say, but he'll just be dismissive of the situation. I reckon he should stay away for a while.

What i really don't understand Jumbo is why this affecting the teams performance.....

I don't understand why there seems to be no team unitity.

Robbo said it on AFL 360 - if the players are un-happy show some balls and speak out - otherwise play for each other and show some heart.

None of this makes any sense, and i don't think G Lyon will give any real answers

I have OD - I accept there are a lot blokes on our list who wouldn't know what hard work is

But even crap teams can still be competitive - where is the pride? where is the competitive spirt?

I really just don't understand what's happening at this club

Robbo and Wheatley having a great chat about the state of the club on 360 now.

Robbo has alluded to tomorrow's HS backpage story about the Dee's with "one million dollars" in the headline.

Won't be pretty.

I don't really like Robbo - but he did make some sense

I don't know either.

I remember a deputation of Richmond players went to the Board to depose Terry Wallace and guess what? It worked!!!

Players are too nervous to breathe atm.

Bleh - have to be hard up to watch that crap. Mutual ego-stroking contest between The Wig, The Blob, The Statue and Loin Chops (bugger - was trying to work The Lyon, The Witch and The Wardrobe in there somehow, but no room - maybe Lloyd is The Wardrobe, and Blubberguts has disappeared inside him).

Can you imagine how much money Lyon pulls in for peddling his cliches? (I read somewhere that Sam 'Botox' New-Man gets a million a year just for The Footy Show. With all his media involvement (eg his brilliant Gonzo analysis of Jared Rivers and his sterling defence of us during the tanking beat-up - oh, hang on, he didn't do that one, did he?) Lyon probably earns twice that.

Cheez...

i dont mind him, he is a slob but tonight he was good.

Told everyone (including supporters) to stop talking and help the club in anyway they can as we are in big trouble, in the mould of Fitzroy.

Makes sense.

I will be there Saturday SFKA

I won't jump ship - but I'd really love the players to show some real guts

I will be happy if the 'Leaders' of the club stand up and say this is not working - show some guts and make a real stand

Surely playing poorly will only turn us supporters against the players?? And if it's true - 2 coaches in 3 years they've disagreed with - that is a real worry

What does the one million dollars refer to?

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
