Another former coach, besides Plough and Libba, in David Parkin in today's Herald Sun admits to having ".. been tempted and gone down that road too " . To think that it only took a few smart-alec jibes from Brock Mclean to set the wolves on to US !

Bit late now for the Fess up...they will all walk out of the shadows now!!

They can do it with impugnity as the AFL won't touch the big or interstate clubs. God help the Dogs or Roos if they get caught for something.

Couldn't make a more direct confession than that. He's not even saying he 'heard' something - he says he did it. Will he AFL act? Will CW run with it?

I don't believe that.

I believe we flaunted it after the fact, thinking we were safe.

Almost, but obviously not quite.

The AFL, as they are, felt backed into a corner.

If AD was here, we'd have been fine.

But he wasn't, and fate conspired against us.

*by we, I mean certain club officials.

It is logically possible that you are correct and so is Redleg. Do you really think CWood would have been subject to an 8 month drawn out investigation in the same circumstances? I don't - sadly a large supporter base means lots of $ and that is what motivates the AFL.

Exactly.

The hypocrisy is indescribable.

Not Just a large supporter base, but a feisty supporter base that doesn't care about subtlety, would demand heads roll @ AFL HQ.

Doubt it will even cause a ripple. Everyone is tanked out. Need to get used to the idea that we are the only club that will get whacked.

Possiby.

The Pies aren't dependent on the AFL for financial assistance, and their crowd numbers mean it's largely irrelevant what the AFL tries to use as retribution by fixture manipulation.

Fact is, the pies currently have much more leverage against the AFL than we do, beyond being in the right.

I also think they have access to a person like Eddie, which we don't, who can shape and influence public opinion to the point of either making this go away, or artful misdirection onto a straw man argument that allowed for the AFL to clear us and move on.

its a load and we all know it but I guess lets try and use ot to solidify our supporter base.

The Western Kangaroos.

I Like the sound of that.

Do not care about the fate of others anymore.

As We are in such a precarious situation .

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits. Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
