The tragic downfall of Liam Jurrah

I do think he's making it harder for his supporters to continue to back him to get his life in order. I would hope that he does though.

It hurts a little.

Dee, what I'm saying is that none of us can truly know where things are at for Liam, how much he's his own worst enemy and how much he is a victim of his circumstance. Better?

agree, but it is very difficult at this time to feel much for him, other than disbelief in all that has passed in 15 months, & such disappointment.

I think you can both consider his decline tragic, but at the same time abhor his recent actions.

Agreed, but that would be holding two positions at the same time, which by Demonland standards, is one too many.

So “Chucky” are you a clinical psychologist or a psychiatrist? How many times have you examined or interviewed patient Jurrah.?

Otherwise, to make an unsubstantiated assertion, such as you have made, brands you as a [censored].

That your clinical opinion too, Dr [censored]?

God forbid I speak my mind on the the machete wielding, woman bashing, drink driving scum Liam has become. He [censored] on the club, he [censored] on us, and now he's pissing on himself.

But kiss his boo-boos better and send him on his way if it makes you feel better.

Yep. People in jail are scum. It's why we put them there. Y'know, that whole bit about being unfit to be allowed near normal society bit? Do you understand that? Do any of you actually have a working brain that lets you understand that this isn't a bit of bad luck, or a rough trot, but punishment for a serious violent crime? Do you people get that, or does your brain stop working once the word football is mentioned?

Scum.

Jurrah comes from a third world environment where white man's law doesn't prevail - in their eyes. One of their rules of law is "pay back". If you're an initiated man it's expected. To not follow your own mob's law wouldn't bare thinking about. A world where your native tongue is different from those that set the laws of the land. Let me hasten to add that I'm not suggesting this incident had anything to do with "payback". I'm merely giving an example of what's a completely foreign culture.

Life is all about role models, but I'm guessing they have different values and expectations in Yuendemu. Btw, I'm not an apologist for his actions, but I recognise that he's from a group of people that I can't really cast judgment upon. How could I when I have no understanding ? Needless to say I'd be more forthright on those that have come from mainstream society. I'd be exceedingly vocal in my condemnation.

I just recognise that I'm hopelessly ill-equipped to make sense of his world.

I understand that you have a passion for question marks and a penchant for generalizations that portray you as an idiot of the highest order

In a court of law, found not guilty of machete-wielding. Or of wielding anything for that matter.

That doesn't matter to our good ol boy

I'm not in jail like your scum mate, buddy boy.

FYI-LJ isn't either.

As you presumably have the benefit of speaking and reading English ,you might know this .

However ,given time ,I trust even your bold statement on your freedom will become untrue .

I can only hope.

OJ was innocent too. So was Victor Pierce.

I fear you may be wasting these points on someone who seems to be locked into a 'they're all scum' mantra

Bwhahahaha.

Really? That's the best you can do? You've taken one to many balls to the chin in your life, Biffo.

Defend the woman basher, Biff. Defend him hard. It just shows what a sad little man you are.

Nelson Mandela?

So are you trying to tell me Liam has been fitted up here? Is that where you want to take this? That he is a political prisoner of an unjust government?

Are you sure you want to look more stupid that you already do?

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
