Of course, they could only get the clubs view if they were able to talk to them. It's doubtful that there is any meaningful dialogue between the Club and the big paper.

The reality is that the H/S article is fair and measured and the other one is very poorly written re the content and obvious bias. There is no real attempt at balance. Imagine if the stories were reversed in the time they were published. Most of us would be largely dismissive of the 'later' article.


There was mention of the disequalisation strategy with regards to the 'possible' fine.

While a heavy fine is likely, Melbourne is handed money from the AFL's disequalisation strategy so would have the league effectively funding their fine.

And the possible ban on Connolly could apply to the football dept only.

In what world is $ 500,000 a light penalty? My guess is $500,000 is the lump sum total and could be made up with several different components.
