Just made a simple observation TF.

Based on his 2012 form would he be missed?

Now 2013 may be a big year for him but when you start preseason training with a foot stress fracture it looks doubtful.

This type of injury often means a season off.

My memory tells me Colin Garland started out this way and he lost a season.

In my wee mind I have him as a scratching for at minimum the first half of 2013.

We have all seen what the lack of a full pre season does to players.

Not expecting much from JT in 2013.

There's some merit in what you say but it sounds like the diagnosis and subsequent treatment came early enough to head off the sort of injury that Colin Garland suffered a few years ago.

Based on his 2012 form, I doubt that he would be missed all that much but we will nevethess miss out because Jack is at the stage where, along with several of his teammates, some significant steps forward are expected of him. The lay off is definitely a blow but we do have some good people dealing with strength and conditioning so that even while he's not going full bore on the track, he can still work on maximising his fitness during the recovery period.

I therefore still think he has a significant role to play in the year ahead.

Trengove needs to hit the gym more anyway.

I see local footballers in better upper body shape than Jack.

It was certainly an area that I noticed, so providing Trengove hits the gym

over the course of his injury - it might actually be benefical that he is hauled up.

I sense a new whipping boy coming up, which is a little peculiar seeing as Trengove isn't a ginger-nut, doesn't have a porn-star style mo, or isn't challenging a stick of celery for the lowest BMI.

Youngest captain in MFC history- obviously was playing under duress last year, which may have contributed to his current injury, loyal as a dog and has never put a foot wrong off field, loves our club and has declared his intent to right this wrong ship yet still some of you have a dig.

Heres a suggestion- go watch some of his junior tapes, recognize that last year was a hiccup- breath- and give the kid a break FFS

What's not to like ? You're only stating fact.

That said, I rate him highly and can't believe that so many here don't share my enthusiasm due to a down year. His first two years as a teenager were terrific.
