Here have a look at his stats by game - he's pretty hot and cold imo.

http://www.footywire...s--kurt-tippett

As wellas that he often goes missing in big games, and the two finals this season are proof of that.

Sure if you are looking at the stats comparing him to mids like Ablett & Cotchin - but as tall key position ruckman forward he is pretty consistent with their stats. Thats what GC would be recruiting him for - take the number 1 backman and release Day & Lynch - makes perfect sense for them. (Play Supercoach do you?)

People wanted rid Jones, i bet the same people want Gysberts gone, who is it to say they couldnt be of similar ability come 3 years time?

No doubt - the key point is those picks are around a 50/50 punt for us. Which interestingly is around AFL average probabilities - But you are trying to "load" the coin.

PS I dont take a lot of notice what some people say around here - & Im sure the feeling is mutual many take no notice what I say.

Lol no I do not play supercoach, and there are more consistent forwards out there. He is overvalued in my opinion - you don't pay a player in excess of 500k if he is there just to distract the number one backman every week, and if he is a key forward (on 500k +) 35.30 for a season is not good enough.

I hear you I'm not commenting on his value. However, GC I can fully see the attraction. What the stat sheet on a singular player rarely tells you is - How he contributes to others around him!

I can fully see why Gold Coast would be interested in him. All be it they may want to talk him down with similar points to yourself.

I should add if there is a "knock" on Tippett it would be more on accuracy - nothing to do with players around him - but that might be a case of looking at his heat maps which Im sure both Voss & McKenna have done (which I confess I have not done for some time). Game-plans vary from team to team.

Not me. I've always seen Jones as a part of the future, but was a little suprised at how much love Gysberts got at the start of his career.

Mitch was disillusioned at the Lions, i do not get this feeling from Kurt tbh

Mitch just wanted to go home to family. We said "here's a truckload of cash and a job for your missus", Mitch said "awesome". Done.

Brisbane is a shorter flight than Perth, come on down Tip!

Would cost us a crack at Hogan, so pass.

Save the "war chest" for OOC from gWS next year!

We can't always be a team of 18-21 year olds... There's no promises Hogan will be better than Tip, we should have learned by now to go with proven abilities rather than gambles (no matter the odds)

I get what you're saying, but in my mind if you're keen to leave then you can be convinced of other options, may take A LOT of convincing, but can happen

and to segway, that’s exactly why we should take Viney regardless of the pick position.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
