Simple philosophy for end of year assessment....take into account their training efforts...their willingness to step up a million levels compared to last year....if they have shown this then they get asked one question, Are you prepared to work your backside off to get this club and yourself to a Premiership??...answer yes...your in..if they haven't shown the effort..they don't even get asked a question..they just get shown the door.

Richmond got rid of 14 players from their senior and rookie lists after the 2009 season, which was Hardwick's first season in charge if I remember rightly. Nobody's complaining now!

If the club is serious about contending any time this decade, some hard calls have to be made and soon. Being OOC, Petterd is one of many players that will be the subject of a hard decision, no matter which way it ends up going.

and thats exactly whats about to happenwith the Dees.

Purge !!!

I am perplexed by Ricky P. With his tackling efforts against the tigers last year and his hard approach to the footy I would have bet that he would have relished under Neeld at the start of the year. I don't get what is wrong with RIcky.

Was also expecting RP to flourish but obviously hasn't. so, cue the Rawhide music "Move em on move em out"

A monty to be part of the purge imo. Ricky's head and heart have been elsewhere in 2012 (probably in the same space as Beamer's). I suspect (but don't know) that both of them were part of Greeny's "buy in" reference.

Hardnut the counts at 4 we are required to delist 3 players. This is hardly a mass exodus at this point.

Just keep watching - the number will grow, it will be the players' fault, and Neeld will be applauded, until the middle of next year!

Do you have any comprehension of the effect of so many players leaving or being told to leave! Who would want to come to MFC! Neeld apparently has no understanding of people management, let alone the effect on the club!

My only comprehension is that being an AFL footballer is a tough gig and they get paid adequately. Their only recompense is glory and adulation from adoring fans.

Standards have been set and Ricky P couldn't be stuffed.

Jack Viney can't wait to play for this club and be coached by Neeld.

Many others are thinking...'Jeez, this guy is serious...'

None taken. I don't often post, I was simply surprised that someone in any occupation would leave a job without one ready to go.

But he is OOC and if he does not have a new contract then.........

Is every player rumour going to put the blame solely on the club for their exile?

I guess no-one wants to admit they were dismissed from the worst team in the land.

Actually it might be easier to get a trade for Ricky than Bate or the various other players who are clearly going.

Probably a good thing and if Neeld was really blindsided it might even get him to think about the way he's dealing with the list.

"If they behave themselves they'll be here next year!!" sheesh...which way is the door

Ricky Petterd - a few brief flashes in the pan, a few years ago.

Disappointing that, for whatever reason, he wasn't able and / or willing to put in the requisite effort to build on those flashes.

I cannot believe That we have 41 posts about a guy with the worst body language at the MFC.

If you had watched him at Casey you would know he was waiting for the end of the year at about round 3.

Good luck RP but you wasted 2012 with petulant games at Casey

Jack told you that he cant wait to be coached by Neeld did he?

Thats good news ,I hope they pick him up.

Personally I think there would be a myriad of different reasons that blokes play AFL... Greeny said he was just lucky to do.

something he loved. Dermie obviously loved the 'contest' Plugger probably didnt even like it and who knows what it mean to Ablett snr...but certainly not what you just said

Worse than Aaron Davey in the AFL in the first couple of rounds? I think not.

Have you heard of the names McGuinness, McDermott, Jarman, and Greg Anderson ?

Has talent but another flawed player that Bailey invested too heavily in.

Great contested mark for his size but an awful kick and an average attitude to hard work.

Not sure what Davey has to do with RP Rhino.

Can you enlighten me please?

Hardnut the counts at 4 we are required to delist 3 players. This is hardly a mass exodus at this point.

You would think that Bate, Dunn, Bennell, Joel Mac, Bartram, Gys, Martin, Morton and perhaps Rivers And Davey might also be in the mix to get pushed, want out or be traded..... regardless of value or contract status.

Not saying that they should stay, but that's A LOT of players. And we gotta replace them with someone (preferably with experience) who want to come here.

No point putting Joe Blow from Manangatang reserves on the list just to fill a spot. We do have to fill the numbers with quality, or it will be much more than Neeld's career collapsing.

*queue reply post claiming Joe Blow would be better and put him at CHF*

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
