GAME DAY - Round 22

Featured Replies

Posted

All set for a big afternoon/evening after a round that had already seen the demise of heavyweights Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon.

Looking forward to a big day of farewell to a club icon in Brad Green.

Also to Jeremy Howe's 9th mark of the year nomination.

i have a very weird good feeling about today.. i could see an upset brewing..............

A nice 20 point win be great

So do I for some strange reason......mmm?

Greens last, Chips 100th, players playing for their careers, Adelaide's poor MCG record and Neil Craig in our coaches box.

Nope, nothing to worry about here.

Can't wait to send off green in style and I've gotta get out of my house as a few drinks were consumed last night and my wife holds a hangover as well Gill from the Simpsons holds down a steady job

Go Dees. Even my now Collingwood mad daughter is coming with me today. From back in the days ( when she was normal and a Demon supporter) she still has fond memories of Brad Green selling her a Dees scarf at the AFL shop in Southland where he used to work. He was a youngster then but so, so nice. She is coming along today wearing that same scarf to say goodbye to Brad.

I also have a good feeling about today.

If we were a Brisbane or a Richmond, this would definitely be a danger game for Adelaide.

Alas, we are not.

I just hope we manage some competitiveness.

I think we will get flogged and it will be rainy and freezing, I think it will be a shite day to end a shite season!

I'll see you there, then?

Because we are Soooooo good at milestone games. Our record in these type of games is appalling.

Adelaide haven't won at the G since round 20 2009, during which we have defeated them twice so I too am fairly optimistic

Go you Dees!

Onward and upwards-thats the way.

what are some of you guys smoking,???

Anything under a 50 point mauling will b ok for the conditions and circumstances.

They will more thanlikely finish te day 3rd top,,,and us 3rd bottom....thats the reality.

Hope the boys can stir enough to give a respectful effort for Greeny though... but as jnrmac suggests were pretty crap at milestone games...( actually most games currently )

go Dees

only 6 to go :)

Cheers negative Nelly

youre quite welcome to your delusional world. I find reality works just fine for me :)

How boring it must be

Much as I hate to agree with TU, for us to be close at the finish would require a huge form reversal over the rubbish we put out last week.

Having said that, I also believe.

Yep, I'll be there in 5 mins, just cos I know we are going to get flogged does not mean I won't go, I'm a sadist.

haha i spose you gave gc a ghost of a chance last night , , im hoping we get up , like a true supporter would , jeez if we do get up , some on here are gunna cop an awful pasting , that would = a win , lol ,

Is everyone ok to move a spot up on the ladder?

Stuff the consequences . Just win .

Sheedy will probably force our hand anyway . Pick 4 or 6 - meh....

We need to go into next season with some real hope . It starts today .

would have loved to be there today for Greenie's last. For me he is the last of the Daniher brigade and better times as far as the club was performing. The end of an era.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
