seriously? Wines is playing well good for him, the fact Wines had a better first year doesn't make any difference to us, he plays for Port, Viney and Toumpas will be fine, they have Roos and Stone developing them and they both have talent, you don't get rated that highly for no reason.

..and as for draft night mjt - thats decided weeks in advance with a 'best available' list, that you would cross players off and whoever is at the top of your list when its your turn, thats who you recruit. I mean, have you ever seen a coach read out a players name and number on draft night?

I can remember an article from about 18 months ago, just before the 'toumpas draft' where it mentioned Neeld was asked to give a 20 minute presentation to the recruiters..

I would guess a coach like Roos or Thompson would have maybe 10% input in all the time it takes to decide WHO is needed.. maybe.

thats why I put in the get-out clause "I could be wrong" - its hard to know exactly - but that was just my take on it.

There would of course be isolated incidences:

like maybe roos - tyson.. neeld - dawes another off the top of my head.. wouldnt have thought roos would have much input about salem and jkh and the youngins' tho..

again, I could be wrong - thats just how I read it..

-I could imagine Jason taylor who is VERY good at his work, respectfully looking Roos in the eye and saying

'Mate, this is my area of expertise, I wont let you down.. just concentrate on your already very hefty commitments.

If anyone is unclear on the Pillars, read this. This is an indication as to the talent identification that all Clubs go through. Toump would have been picked by GWS on talent alone, but instead, they went for 3 Victorian lads that knew each other to try to stem the "Go Home" factor. Toumpas was CLEARLY the second best player in that draft. If some of you peanuts sitting at your keyboards would take your hand off it, you would see what EVERYONE else saw. A Classy, Elite, Hardworking young man that will become a Champion of our Club. He is chocfull of Character as well. Look at the Videos on our website re his new roll as an AFL MULTICULTURAL AMBASSADOR. He is mixing with the likes of Jobe Watson, Nic Nat etc. He is also doing some work with Australia Post helping our young Indigenous get the same opportunities he got. All this while having to put up with the weight of expectation of losers spitting on our OWN players last year after some disastrous results. SPITTING!!! WTF.

Grow up all you people (for want of a better word) decrying the fact we got Jimmy. Ollie will be elite as well, but in his own way. Our Jack, and Jimmy will help to lead thismClub from the abyss we are currently in. I trust, with the appropriate amount of developement, that we have 2 future leaders to guide us to greatness.
