Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

This is like swapping footy cards with your friends.

Its Scanlens mentality !!

I am not too bothered about picking up Caddy and think that taking someone like Oliver Wines with Viney would be a good move. Josh Toy is a guy that I actually taught and I really rate his character and skill. He is quite versatile and can play in the middle as well as down back. He has not gone well at Gold Coast mostly because he is homesick and because he has been dealing with the aftermath of coming to terms with the loss of his father. I think that he is a solid player, with a great 60 metre pinpoint kick who is much tougher than he has so far let on. He is also very mature and would not rock the boat in terms of the club culture.

We need people who are going to rock the boat culture wise at the mfc.

Josh Toy is obviously not mentaly tough enough for the sport if he gets homesick living on the gc...what happens when we have to play in WA? Does he only make himself available for home games?

Josh Caddy...PSD or hope we get a 2nd round FAcompo pick otherwise no dice

Scott Thompson left the Dees for similar reasons and is fine upstairs.

I am not saying Toy will become what Thompson has become, but let's not leap of a cliff into the Gorge of Specious Conclusions.

Pretty harsh when it was spelt out in the post above he's been coming to terms with the aftermath of losing his father. Pretty rough on a kid forced to move interstate at the age of 17 and leave his grieving family behind.

Your an idiot, homesickness is not based around one week of interstate travel but rather living away from family for 2 years, he only gets to see them every so often! A weekend away playing doesn't make him homesick.

It's pretty hard to deal with your dads death while away from family basically 24/7

What a down right stupid comment!

Why compare living permanently away from friends and family to 4 days away.

Don't rush to re-post.

I think Thompson had shown more than both Toy and Caddy when he left. I was very disappointed as a younger fan to see him go. Even back then i could see how good he was.

Noticed a picture on Nathan Jones instagram of him and Petterd, the latter not being in his MFC blazer but in a plain suit, maybe he has been told that he is being let go? Maybe traded to the GC with pick 13 ?

If it were for Caddy that would be a shocking deal

Not if it came with certain caveats...

I agree, I meant if it were for only Caddy. What extras would you think are likely?

Josh Caddy and Suns pick 42 TRADE FOR Demons pick 13 and Ricky Petterd. Get the deal done early.

Caddy is a 20yo, strong bodied mid, with good pace, long kick & loves a goal and with another pre season will be able to step up our midfield.

Add Viney & Caddy & pick 3 and 4 say Toumpas + Mayes or Wines and we have a midfield ... Jones, Trengove, Grimes, Mckenzie, Sylvia, Viney, Caddy, Toumpas, Mayes. Now we are heading in the right direction. Add one or two free agents and bang, we are looking very competitive and on the up.

Yet he does very little on game day. That trade would be a loss for us - how about we use pick 13 on one of Kennedy, Stringer or Wines?

Sorry.....I just don't get the love for Caddy on this thread......I think we are better off going for Wines(strong ...head over the ball midfielder)....I have only seen Caddy a few times and he has not impressed me at all....

Your a shocking deal

So you think trading pick 13 and Petterd to Gold Coast for Caddy would be beneficial to us?

If we snag a free agent like Monfries for example then yes. Petterd is finished at the dees and Caddy will become a star

Tell me why you think a guy with two seasons in the system, who at one stage this year picked up 3 disposals in a full game of footy, will be a star. Pick 13 alone would be overs for him and will be much better spent on one of the kids this year, or in a trade involving someone like Wellingham.

No offence - If Gold Coast took that I would be laughing all the way to London. If they didnt take it - I would 100% guarantee you would not have pick 3 in the draft & you would have no Caddy. oh - and you still would have Petterd.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
