I was at lunch in the Jim Stynes Room for the Richmond game. When I went to the lift Neil Craig and a young player were ahead of me. He stood back, put his arm in front of the player and said "Members first". That struck me as balance.

I might have spoilt the moment though when he asked "So, looking forward to a good game?"

"Nope. I'm looking forward to a win." He did give a wry smile.

Yep. And it takes a little time. I Dont expect manifest changes to present til next season .

Sat next to him at a Debt Demolition Dinner earlier this year.

Lovely bloke. We're lucky to have him. Confirmed to me in spades that this club is heading in the right direction.

It genuinely amazes me that not all supporters see this.

RB he could be JC in person.

I will believe when we win 8 games next year and no 10+ goal losses.

Have spoken to him a few times and he is a strong minded man. He is big on integrity and principle and will be a leading component of our club's culture change. He is very impressive with solid experience in many areas of football and sport generally.

He'd run his race at Adelaide, clearly. But look at the team he'd put together there. New coach and they're flying. He left Adelaide in good shape. Sound bloke. Not a genius like Blight but very consistent and decent. Good fit for trying to develop a good culture at Melbourne.

Why was Adelaide so bad last year?

They were clearly in a transition phase.

It shouldn't be missed that their drive up the ladder has come from some young players coming of age after showing glimpses of promise for some time.

The older players are only playing cameos.

The same thing has to happen at MFC.
