After the procession of media hell we endured last season and in the first half of this one, it's good to see this mob under the pump. I don't like them and I don't like their arrogant supporters. You know the types.

"Can you smell what the Blues are cooking?"

Yep ... turd soup!

They put a whole of eggs in the Judd basket but now that he's past his peak they've blown their chance and I reckon they know it.

"They know we're coming ..... we've gone".

The emotional side of football made me despise Judd when he passed over the club he supported as a kid

But when the dust settled, I thought it was perhaps the best long term thing that could've happened

Would've bought us up to middle table perhaps, but would've left very little for the players around him (plus we would've missed on some of the kids we picked up who will take us through in the future)

hope DrWho read today's Hun re Carlscum's recruiting acumen. BP joined a great team

And has not even had time toi screw them yet.

If BM continues on BP may have the shortest career yet at Carlton.

Careful 'Range Rover', or we here will wear an Egg Faceplant. They won't let the hard work they've put in go to waste without a fight.

There about to change Coach to a temp,,, & then over the Pre Season I think they'll announce a Big Name Coach.

Support for Ratten wavers

CARLTON president Stephen Kernahan last night refused to guarantee that Brett Ratten would coach out the season, opening the door to a $500,000 payout if he was dumped.

Ratten is under enormous pressure heading into Friday night's crunch clash against Collingwood, despite being contracted until the end of the 2013 season.

Cloke should sign now: Lloyd

TRAVIS Cloke needs to sign a new contract with Collingwood before his poor form gets worse and starts to work against him at the negotiating table, former goal-kicking champion Matthew Lloyd has warned.

Lloyd says Cloke should forget about the million-dollar offer Fremantle has put to his management and start thinking about whether his current level of performance is worthy of his reported $750,000-$800,000 a season deal at the Pies.

Lloyd, who has a brother working in the recruiting department at Fremantle, has also raised the possibility of a rival club such as the Dockers switching its target from Cloke to his teammate Dayne Beams, who will soon be out of contract.

It comes after a week where Cloke's contract — one of the biggest stories of the year — has been in the spotlight, beginning with the key forward's interview on The Footy Show, which drew criticism, and Collingwood president Eddie McGuire vowing to "declare war on the world" and Fremantle if the Dockers lure Cloke west.

Mick Malthouse shuts door on mid-season coup

MICK Malthouse says suitors need not contact him about coaching - until October.

Carlton flounders out of its depth

I don't envy Ratts, says Brittain

Don't Argue: Is Mick the man?

Malthouse's manager, Peter Sidwell, shut the door on a mid-season takeover of any club.

The three-time premiership coach has been strongly linked to Carlton, where Brett Ratten is under pressure to keep his job.

"If a coaching job came up in the next few weeks, Michael won't be taking it," Sidwell said.

"He will not entertain any position before the end of the year - that is clear."

Attention grabbing title.

But why do I get the feeling the spotlight will be back on us in the not too distant future ? Maybe there is a bit of MFCSS in all of us.

Or maybe that's what we've come to expect in turbulent times recently.

Enjoy it while it lasts. I reckon Ratten is gone, he will probably coach the year out, but that could change in a flick of a switch at Carlton.

When you think about it, it's all very harsh on Ratten. The guy has delivered reasonably well for four seasons yet as son as they hit a slump, the knives come out.

Malthouse was always going to cast a shadow over both Ratten and Hardwick this season and of the two it look like Ratts has drawn the short straw. Gone.

When you miss Carrazzo and Murphy, two prime movers, and have a skipper at 75%, and other key injuries (Waite, Laidler, Scotland) that give no continuity to a side, you're going to be vulnerable. He has delivered and reached targets up until this year.

If they lose this week and sack him through weight of pressure.....he will need a new start. Any club out there looking for a midfield coach ?

Our kids would learn a heap from playing and training with a gun like Judd. Same goes with Ablett at Gold Coast. I think teh pro's of them teaching the youngsters outweights any percevied lack of opertunity arguement

I have to say i thought it was going to be a thread about something the blues are doing with beyond blue.

Change the headline. Mods

I mentioned this in another thread. If he gets the sack we should go after him big time!

Can't disagree with that, however, the kids we'd have at our disposal would probably be vastly different if we'd had Judd

Not sure that would make us worse or not Viney12

We might have a couple more good senior players and less kids who are struggling to get up to speed beore they should need to.

Headline changed for those feeling queezy. We do live in a nanny state.

its not living in a nanny state, its to do with people that may have been affected by depression.

Who knows what we'd have actually given up if Judd came, but if it was similar to what Carlton paid it would have been pick 4 (Morton) + pick 21 (Maric) + player. Whatever happens at Carlton over the next couple of years, they won't look back with any regret on getting Judd.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
