Overall have been very impressed with big Mitch so far. If it weren't for a few brain fades he could be leading the league in goals at the moment in a VERY ordinary team. He has been worth every cent, and I expect him to improve.

Pm24 isn't so wrong with that comment. For example, do you really believe that with so few incursions into our forward 50, Clark could afford to attempt to play on when he had marked so close to goal? That effort had be shouting at the TV! I think your reaction to pm24's comments are a little over the top...he was hardly crucifying the guy, just providing a fairly well balanced assessment.

That's great, I'd love to see him play out the rest of his career at the dees! Being still only 24 and already starting to perform my mouth waters at the prospect of what he'd be like at 26/27!

Hopefully by contract renewal time comes round we are well and truly on the up and we give him no reason not to stay!

That's the hope. Keep in mind though, In 2008 when we were sitting pretty at the bottom of the ladder I thought that by 2012 we would well and truly be finals contenders.

He needs to work on his leading and re-leading yes, but I have also seen some of his leads "not honored" and some atrocious delivery to him!

I guess he is the least of our worries.

Please tell me when I called suggested that he was a hack. My main point was that I believe he has to further develop his skills as a forward from what I have seen. Yes the entry into the forward 50 will influence the impact that Clark has on the game, but I was not focusing on how the ball was entered and his ability to take a mark, I was focusing on his leading as a forward, his decision making, and those brain fades. I am a fan of his acquisition, and think he is going to be a great player for us, but should that mean that I can't expect him to improve as a player so that he can become a real champion???

What is wrong with me having the view that him leading back towards the goal when we have a player 60metres away trying to kick it to him rather than lead into space to put himself into a better position to take a mark and kick a goal??? Or are you suggesting that the better move would have been for Clark to conitnue running further away from Watts leaving Watts with only one option.....to kick it long and high and giving his defender time to impact the contest???

Don't get me wrong, I think Clark has been and will continue to be great for us, but that doesn't mean he is without fault in the way he plays as a forward. If he hadn't played on, if he had approached that kick on the run from inside 50 better, if he had led to Watts rather than away from him, he could have had 6 goals. That is where I think he could improve. That he could have, and probably should have finished with about 5-6 goals on the weekend if he had made some better decisions.

I'm pretty sure he'll be fine though, and will hopefully be the cornerstone of our forward line for the next 6-8 years.

How about next time you read a post, you consider everything that has been put in that post, rather than just grabbing one line, and posting based on what you think was said.

I am happy with his play and his acquisition, but I think he could be even better than what he has shown to date, that's all.

I've got to admit that i've got mixed feelings about Clark's performance to date. He's done just as many things to annoy me, as he has to please me.

To me, he could be that monster forward we need, but he doesn't yet play like a forward. I rarely see him using multiple leads to put himself in a position of advantage by out-maneuvering his opposition deffender. Rather he just makes one or two leads or just expects the ball to be kicked long and high to him. I'm not sure if that's the gameplan or just him though.

With that said, I do feel better about the team with him in the side, but I also believe he need to work on his ability to play as a forward. I can actually understand why Matthews ranked him as only an average forward based on what I've seen to date. He could be so much better.

Big men take longer to learn and mature PM as you know. Don't forget, apart from Jake & Gawny, he's the tallest player in our team and unless Jake gets a run, maybe the tallest for the remainder of the year.

Give him a few more seasons (at least 2 more after this anyway) and i'm pretty sure you'll find he'll play the percentages better, his running patterns will slowly become 2nd nature and better timed etc. I agree he's far from top line at this point but at least he's having a red hot go and giving us a decent target. In addition, the whole team is making a serious number of clangers at this point right across the park (including Clark), as well as some pretty average delivery i50 much of the time....so we need to cut Clark (and our other permanent forwards) a little slack until everyone improves across the park (Clark included).

Bottom line, he's a work in progress but just might be a super KPF for us all going well and given enough experience/time.

I have a strong hunch he might end up being a great leader, either spiritually or officially, as well.

No-one talked about it, but to kick five in a 100 point loss... in one of the lowest inside fifty games in recorded history... That's startling.
