GAME DAY - Round 2

Recommended Posts

Clark is more of a big bodied midfielder or crumber than a forward. He'd be awesome in the ruck, but for some reason, we're not playing him there.

Probably has something to do with the four million dollars we're paying him to be a full forward...

We are playing a top 4 side, in their home state, and we are a bottom 4 side. What did you expect Neeld

to do? Wave his magic wand and we'd suddenly be good?!

It'll take time.

i expect us to be competitive, we look like a 3rds side, embarrising

He's trying to implement a game plan that is outdated and doesn't suit our cattle. We can't afford another two to three year build.

I don't care what we're paying him. I just care what he's good at. And he's not good at marking the ball in a contested situation. Ruckman are damn important, so we should swap Jamar for Clark. Jamar can mark the ball better, and Clark is of far more use around the ground.

And thats the problem isn't it? Would be nice to be able to watch a game with some expectation that we might be able to actually compete.

That'll happen Doc, but come on, as if it was ever going to be this week. With the events of this week and the absolute gulf in class between the sides, there was never going to be any result other than this one.

It's like a training drill.

For all the hot air and tough talking from Neeld, we have become less competitive since he took over. Shameful.

We are worse than 08 and 09 in everyway. Unorganized, clueless, skill less

I too am shattered Clark isn't single handedly pulling us out of the poo. We should give that money to the midfielders and defenders who are also getting completely spanked.

It's our disposal across the entire ground. Outside of say Watts and Trengove, we rarely hit targets.

21-1 frees holy [censored] and 4 goals 2 resulting from free kicks

To be honest, most of them have been clumsy free kicks that were there. The last goal however was [censored] abhorrent. Definitely ducked into it.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
