This is a very tall and extremely slow team - must be one of the slowest sides ever selected.

When we did well in 2010, it was when Jamar had to ruck virtually the whole game, with someone like Dunn as back-up, and we selected a team full of runners. We seem fiercely

I dont think we are overly tall. In fact we may still struggle to match up on a forward structure of Kennedy, NikNat/Cox, Lynch and Darling.

Dunn as a back up ruck taking on Nik Nat would be interesting.....

Attitude Demons..How much do you want Respect?

$12 is a fair price. I remember round 2 in 2010 vividly.

We were $15 that day.

Coach Neeld, back yourself to take those risks. It is the best way to learn.

I would love to see us win today if for no other reason than to watch the backtracking that would surely go on in here.

well it won't happen so don't get too excited

I won't backtrap a step anyway. I felt pretty good after those pies games and belting Sydney and all that - but it means nothing if all you can do is pull one out of the bag every now and then, then go back to being putrid. If we got our stuff together and managed to win today my immediate thought would be 'now do it again next week and every week after that'

Why should it happen this time? Our players should be steeled and ready to perform after the [censored] we've copped as a club this week. Anyone who doesn't want to put his head down, bum up and get the footy today doesn't deserve to get selected again.

It doesn't matter how "steeled" they are. Even if they absolutely play out of their skins, I can't see them winning. We are severely outclassed, playing on their dung heap. I wish it were as simple as "if they just tried harder they'd win". Yeah, nah.

It's been quite a while since I've gone in to a match with this much with this much trepidation dread. This is going to hurt, severely.

Absolutely correct Nasher now matter how hard you try you cannot pull up socks that you do not have on.

We simply do not have the cattle, when it comes average skill level

They are a top side and we are a bottom four side.

I will be interested to see how the team is coached this week. I think it would be fair to say that Neeld made very few effective moves to either help capitalise on our superiority when we were on top in the latter half of the first quarter or to stop the flow of ball to the Brisbane forwards in the third.

I thought that he was a tactician and that Neil Craig alongside him had the experience to deal with such situations and I'd like to see some signs of this tomorrow.

Fully agree. We lost so many chances by sticking blindly to the 'down the line' mantra and not straightening up to the half forward line or looking for the switch. There was no Plan B ready to go.

Also the delay in making the sub switch when we were just getting creamed all through the 3rd quarter had me really frustrated.

I just want to see a breakout game - i dont even care who it is. Bennell always impressed me.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
