The time is now for the "buy in" from our supporters

The time is now for the "buy in" from our supporters - just have a feeling we have a massive opportunity with Mark Neeld & Neil Craig to really move forward as a football club.

Do we owe it to them & ourselves too at least give it a chance or, will old habits die hard & we will be "boat anchored" in the past.

Only time will tell. I hate drawing lines in the sand - but geez I cant help but think we have arrived at one reading these forums of late.

Just a thought.

As Mark Neeld said on Saturday, I'm not going to be putting blind faith in the club, I've done that for three decades, I want to see results.

At the very least that makes two of us

I am not sure how my "buying in" makes any difference to the score line on saturday.

I don't run out next saturday ( thank god it would be even worse ) The playing group does not even know I exist.

I seriously doubt they read my ramblings on here.

Can you explain how "buying in " effects the way the team plays on saturday

I just spent $200 at the Demon Shop so does that mean i am in?

The new coach and his team will live by the results they bring to the club. Simple.

I'm waiting for my signed #24 St Pats Day jumper won in the auction to arrive... suppose that means I've bought in too :-)

With all this buying in hardtack the result is forgone conclusion

Not sure what we are all worried about

I think so. I did think of cancelling the order at 3/4 time on saturday, but refrained!

I think we might be in for a surprise this weekend... I'm hoping we can emulate (or improve on) our round 2 in 2010. A big ask I know, but footy can be a funny game.

I've bought a guernsey, a membership, and other various merchandise as of late.

What I am sicking of buying is the empty claims that success if just around the corner that come from this club.

Silence.

Still waiting for Dr? to release his manifesto on saving the club through supporter buy-in

bet it will be a good read

meanwhile i'll continue to accept my share of the blame by being so apathetically mediocre

Instead of giving more money to the club we should give it directly to the players. They deserve more. I worry the senior players might not have enough to live on when they are retired.

Point me to where the club said success is just around the corner ?

Maybe from Demonlanders but I cant recall anyone from club telling me to peek at success around the corner.

Neither the Club or Neeld has ever said success is just around the corner. Only the posters on here that have absolutely no idea what it takes to turn a dysfunctional club and playing group around, ever thought success was just around the corner. The most fascinating thing about forums is watching posters whip each other up in to a optimistic frenzy then the same Nellies slashing their wrists for each other when their little fantasies of the week before werent fulfilled. This is a very BIG job ahead of this club. Referring to the "rebuild " of the last few years is too simplistic. the rebuild has a very long way to go. The "kids" in the side atm arent even the most important part of this rebuild. Its Craig, Misson, Neeld and the Board that count here. Most of the list will be a distant memory before this club hits its so called "premiership Window". Thats a fact. But the Club has the best chance at achieving success in decades. Just be realistic. The team is shite and turds dont polish up too well. Any criticism of Neeld at this point is just laughable. Why dont we just sign coaches up on a 1 week contract. LOL

Just posted this on BF;

I get a feeling part of the reaction is that everyone in the football community wanted us to win on the weekend and we let them all down - so now they are responding in the same manner as a lot of our fans by spitting the dummy over the players/coaches performance because they didn't get the result they wanted.

As supporters we have every right to react emotionally immediately following the game, but I think this is also a test of our resolve - we need to actually SUPPORT the club and the coach by backing them to the hilt and continuing to turn up to games all year. In football all you have is your club, players, coaches and supporters - all other tribes (including the media and those in it who have their own club allegiances) are the enemy and they can go and get stuffed as far as I'm concerned. Neeld has coached ONE GAME - I'm prepared to give him and the players a little more time before the knives come out. Midway through this year we will know which players have bought in to the new coaching structures and midway through next year we will have a better idea of where we sit with the new coach/FD.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
