Mark Neeld on SEN Breakfast 4 November

I posted this on Ology after viewing the first training run. It may be of interest to you and others.

Sam looked buggered and without any real endurance. The drill was repetitive 300m-ish runs at good solid pace with a short 100m-ish recovery stroll/walk then off again. Sam needs to put a lot of k's into those legs!!

The fastest group, Jones, Bail & Maloney, were doing it in 1 min 4 secs. The group Sam was in did 1 min 14 with Sam repetitively doing it in 1 min 25 ish. We timed them a couple of times. There was another group that we didn't time cos of the staggered starts.

The purpose of the run seemed to be sort the fit from the not so fit. It did it's job it seemed.

Thanks for that.

I think he's in for an interesting time over the next few months in what is going to be his first pre season.

Mark Neeld Preess Conference

The bloke just screams class doesn't he. If his actions are as good as his words, we are in for one hell of a good ride here :)

Are you suggesting Dunaden would make a good midfielder?

Personally I think he would only be good in a straight line, no agility. Definitely a KPB

Plus, he cannot shake a tag. Some little French bloke had him covered for the whole trip.

Oh no not another Davey!

Particularly with Dave Misson on Board as well...His Press Conference today was every bit as impressive.

For some reason I can't stand Andrew Gaze and just have to turn over the station whenever he's on. I'm not sure if anyone can be more painful than listening to Tim Watson and "You blllllokes" Andrew Maher first thing in the morning but he certainly gives them a run for their money.

Me too. I can't stand him. Everything he says seems forced.

Can anyone tell me why these podcasts never work for me. I click on them and it takes me to where i already am.

Are you using firefox? I've found that it generally blocks the add-ons you need to play these things. Try using ie instead.

I agree 100% Andrew Gaze may be a Top Bloke But he is a total [censored] on Radio......as bad as Andy Maher, and that is as bad as it gets!

3.189k. I've run it more times than I care to count.

What was your best time?

Is there audio about for that one WYL, I'd like to hear it if available.

Thanks DemonOx, I'll go check it out. Love that the word impressive is being used to describe our coaching staff :)

Thanks for that post.

If you want to put it into perspective; how many reps are we talking?

B/c if it's 10 - that's really poor. If it's 20 - that's really good.

Thanks for info again.

Edit: Really good = 1 min 4 sec group. Not the others. 1min 14 secs for a 300m is a canter. You'd want to be doing 30 reps to make that acceptable at this level of sport. 1 min 25 secs is a brisk walk. Not a good look.

I'm using Firefox, and it works ok. I listened to the poscasts of MN the other day.

Articulate, confident, decisive ---- geez I am excited.

He drives me nuts too but he's still a pretty good bloke

I'm just really looking forward to the next time we have bad loss and a journo asks a stupid question at the post-game presser.

YouTube fodder.

I have lots of issues with MFC related SEN pods (and use Firefox), indeed I was resigned to the link not working.

However they historically have started working for me 3-4 days after the fact - which is the case with this link which was first recorded on the 4th.

I'll even load up IE as the last resort and still get nothing for those 3-4 days. Bizzarro.

Do all of you having problems have Quiktime player installed?

Pretty sure it runs through that.

bit unrelated, but didnt want to start a new thread

"RalphyHeraldSun Mark Neeld couldn't have been tougher on Aaron Davey on 3AW. Basically said he plays VFL if he can't fill the role required of him "

Heheheh. I feel like a schoolboy meeting his first girl listening to Mark Neeld. Finally some leadership!

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
