Hagdorn kiss of death - guaranteed not to happen now.

Huh, interesting. I wanted us to recruit him when he left North. I was Howled down around Here.

Hard @ the contest.

He'd be a good Get.

I'd welcome him to the club! Good quality Gippsland boy from Heyfield.

His old man works with my old man and has played a few rounds of golf with Leigh. He is switched on and has a good knowledge of the game!

Eventually they've got to get one right but based on the fact that he's a CONTENDER and COULD get the job they're probably just making it up as always

You forgot the good old "it's understood" with no quotes mentioned or names dropped.

I just hope Hagdorn breaks his duck and guesses right on this one. I quite like the idea Leigh Brown (just a gut feeling, nothing substantive to base it on) and I especially like he concept of our assistant line coaches having direct responsibility for the same lines under the Head Coach at Casey. Logical but innovative in AFL ranks as far as I'm aware.

A million Kims and a million keyboards?

It's footy's equivalent of New Idea. Friends/insiders/amazed fellow dinners/sources/confidants etc..

Would it be possible or likely that he will stay at the filth in a coaching role? I'm starting to warm to the idea of Hudgton coming over.

Yeah, start a Rumour/SNF thread on the main board.

I thought this bit was interesting

The Demons are understood to be planning appointment of a specialist development assistant to each designated line coach under Neeld.

The assistant to each defensive, midfield and forward line coach will also be directly responsible to that zone with Melbourne’s VFL affiliate club Casey Scorpions under senior coach Brad Gotch.

Sounds like we'll have more say in the structure Casey plays with, if, by some miracle, Hagdorn has got that right.

I think he is a short prized favourite to join us.

Yeah, I thought that was interesting too.

Coaches are not Pokemon.

We don't need all 150.

That's true. But we've gone for a structure that has 2 coaches per line (forward, mids, backs) and we've still got a defensive position to fill under Rawlings and Brown might be a worthwhile person to fill that role, we've also got a forwards coach to work above Satterley.

I Like the Idea of Brown coming across.

So do I. Knows Neelds plan, knows how to get the best out of himself and plays a tough, hard and unsociable brand of football, which doesn't make him popular to the public but I think he's well regarded by his teammates. He's also done a bit of TAC coaching work. Also it's not like our backline are old, it's only really Rivers, Macdonald, Garland and Frawley who have probably played on him much. I'm sure he can earn the respect of those guys whilst working with our other defenders. Smart football brain, communication skills and work ethic are the important things, if he has them he'll probably do well.

Paul Roos called Leigh Brown the worst AFL player to ever play 200 games and I don't disagree with him. Apart from being big he has next to no ability; is poor below his knees and doesn't specialise in any one area- he just roams all of them.

This is turn for me suggests 'no' as a coach.

Any player de-listed by the Kangaroos should not coach Melbourne Football Club.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
