Everyone besides the top 5 should be 50-1. You'd be a mupped backing Geelong at $4 now when you could get $2 for them to win this years flag on Monday.

Essendon $21. Just throw your money into the toilet and watch it spin down if you want some entertainment value for your dollar. Sheer lunacy.

Hate to say it but I think Hawthorn could be a good bet.

Agree.

Collingwood with a new coach - wont reach the heights of this year.

Geelong lose Ling, Ottens, and Wojinski. Aging list. Wouldn't write them off, but seem increasingly unlikely.

Hawthorn - will be spewing on the Prelim loss.

I think Carlton are a good show to progress in 2012. They were stiff with injuries to Waite and Jameison late in the year and Gibbs, Murphy, Kreuzer et al will only get better.

I can see them maturing enough next year to make the GF.

For me the money lies with the Hawks @ 7.50, Blues @ 10 and the bet I actually like the most, the Eagles @ 11. Pains me to say it, but I reckon they could be special next year.

GWS, 501 -1? Someone who's had a win at Dapto dogs might pop a tenner on them - after all, they do have a midfielder with a suspect knee and disposition.

Fremantle surprises me. Melbourne should be higher certainly ahead of Adelaide and Essendon.

Eagles wont catch sides unaware next year, don't see Embley, Lynch & Nicoski playing like that again next season Glass, Kerr & Cox aging bodies. Hawks for me but a lot can and will happen by this time next year. One team suprises every year and one team usually falls away dramatically.

Pies still have quality cattle and yesterday will hurt and burn within, but my focus for 2012 will be the Dees, new coach another pre season into our kids and who will be the Stefan Martin who surprises us all and steps up next year

Freo had a truckload of injuries and underdone players.

Don't forget the Suby Oval home factor and new coach....

Jeremy Howe will become a 50-60 goal kicker next year.

They might be a good shot at the flag, but they aren't a good bet. The odds will barely change until the NAB cup next year by which time you can assess their preseason and at least get an idea of their fitness and final list. Even then you are still getting absolutely rorted by bookies. Not sure if there is a market on Betfair yet but it would be a better idea to look there.

I realise it has to start somewhere but simply going off this years ladder is just a tad too simplistic as it takes into condideraton...well, nothing.

We've got list reshuffles, trades, new coaches or no coaches ( lol ) and other factors.

Not particularly representaive of reality.. Just bookies spruiking.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
