Phew........that's a relief ! The topic had me expecting the revelation of a disgraceful Fev-like episode !

Jordie you are a legend and even without a coach the club can see that!

welll done on the coaches award we needed you earlier in the year!!

nangas rule!!!!!

He actually collected a couple of awards tonight.......

*Norm Smith Memorial Trophy (coach’s award): Jordie McKenzie

*Heart and Soul Player Award: Jordie McKenzie

Congrats to Jordie for both, he is a well deserved winner.

And I must admit I do like him winning the "Heart and Soul Player" award, that seems to fit!!!

Me too, my heart was thumping when I opened this thread. I'd have been figuratively burning my figurative #13 jumper if that'd happened.

I absolutely love Jordie for the way he plays and the way he carries himself, and would be shattered if he turned out to be anything else. Well done on the awards - can't wait for the time when he becomes part of a successful team.

Any danger of changing the thread title to something that makes sense, or is at least less alarming?

Ta.

Yep!!!

What a man, does the sort of thing you want players to do, if he can improve his disposal and decision making will become a real weapon. and its true, heart and soul can see it in the way he plays, obvious i love this bloke

If you improve your hard running and make slight improvements to your kicking you will be the player that every good midfield is based upon.

With Moloney and Trengove you lead the way.

The jobs only just beginning but step up and keep leading the way with your relentless attack on winning the footy, be it in dispute or possessed by the opposition. Guys like Mitchell and Lewis exemplified finals football tonight, McKenzie can too.

Well done Jordie! Coaches award together with 'Heart & Soul Player' award (awarded by the playing group) seems to say it all. I agree Queenie, heart and soul is a perfect fit for Jordie. Le'ts hope that a dozen or more of our boys are vying for these two awards in 2012.

Agree with that, if/when we get to a final, you can almost see him being the one to put his hand up the way Lewis did

"Heart & Soul"= Jordie(RANGA)McKenzie, simply awesome award for this kid to win, congrats. I didn't realise he had knocked back the offer from crows, it's not all about the money is it, Ranga, but passion for the club he wants to play for and repay. Thanks mate......2012, are we there yet?

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits.
