Sometimes you really wish they'd maybe clear the tables LATER. Really takes away from the moment. Good speech nonetheless.

Actually they were serving dinner at that time and in all fairness there were nearly 1,000 people there to feed. Despite the fact that I was starving, my dinner got cold whilst bringing you all this video. :P

Out of interest, was it you who made the comment at 3:37 - "he obviously didn't watch them play this year"? :)

Thank you.

Your efforts are deeply appreciated. Especially those of us not in Melbourne

Very interesting opening speech. Thanks Andy for your input. Very much appreciated. Sorry for cold dinner. Felt warmth and sincerety from him, seems the club will fully back him, especially in the area of football department. Now the investment in 8 full time coaches, we can see the full development of our players. Now it is up to them. Go Dees.

Cheers great video

EIGHT full-time coaches? WOW

We have a football club!

Probably Neeld, Royal, Viney, Greaves, Misson, O'Donnell? and 2 more assistants to be appointed.

He B4 God spoke well without being overly complex.

Sounds like even the most simple footballer could listen to his instructions and follow them .

Also sounds like he wont be messed with in that teachery way .

Nice acquisition.

Many thanks. Sounds impressive Mark Neeld.

Thanks for your effort Andy, greatly appreciated by us out of towners. And what a coach it seems we have gotten. If ever anyone has made all the right noises, it is him. It's now action time, and for some reason, I really feel he will back up his talk with his actions.

hope he does what he says

Good job.

Last year the club website had all the main speeches on it.

A very impressive speech by our new coach. I love the emphasis on doing things his way, and I have a feeling that his way might just be what the Melbourne Footy Club needs right now. Many thanks for sharing Andy, listening gave me goose bumps.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
