if they lose taylor walker aswell, they will be knee deep in poopy

Walker has re-signed

as has Mckernan

Tippet is going home, due to him apparently having a get out clause for only a second and third round pick to the club of his choice at the end of next season Crazy i know, Crows will get something decent while they can, from Goldcoast which is where he wants to go,

Maybe some sly business from GC, getting Tippet to put this into his contract, then steal Bock for free, then get tippet the next year......

The Lions were thinking that picks 8 & 12 would be enough. If we were serious, i'd throw pick 12 and a compo pick at them.

But there is no chance of landing him. Crows no doubt want the best compo for him, but why would he come to Melbourne when he has stated he wants to go back home. Mitch Clark all over again.

I think you're right but still worth enquiring. We certainly rattled Mitch Clark with our offer and sometimes the reason for leaving could be hidden, You're not exactly going to say "Hey coach, can you trade me?, this place is a s@#t hole"

The trouble is that he can't kick accurately and, as far as I can recall, has never been able to kick accurately. I feel that we are attracted to the idea of a highly performing Tippett rather than the reality. The sum certainly doesn't equal the parts imo.

Is Tippett really worth that much more than Clark?

Or is it only because he is contracted?

Well he is contracted for 1 year. Tippett is the better forward while Clark would probably be the better Ruck and around the ground.

Agreed. Not a Tippett fan at all. Was in the basketball system too long and doesn't have the footy nouse that I think Clark has. I'd actually take Clark over Tippett all things equal.

Another positive out of trading with Brisbane- they now have the ammo to lure Tippet. Why is this good?

Because it keeps him away from GC. GC are going to be a threat to us, so every decent footballer they fail to lure is a positive for us. Will be happy if he ends up at Brisbane, as I don't see them as a threat to our window.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
