it would have to be more than that. A betting agency isn't going to halt betting for bets worth $130 totaling a potential payout of no more than $1170...

Vanlo I am not having a go at you however you need to learn a bit more about these type of bets.

They do not hold very much on these type of bets and limited the size of the wager.

I heard one of the agencys talking about how it is so easy to pick up the likes of the Shaw and the collingwood bets.

They shut down at the first sign of something strange and check who is betting.

They Seldom hold more than a few hundred on this type of betting.

From what he said I believe that Francis Leach could be correct.

I'd be very sceptical about any part of this.

For starters, betting agencies would have a vested interest in drawing attention to themselves (case in point the St Kilda spoon "plunge").

The odds are set by people, not machines. Lowering his odds for a little while doesn't hurt their business, and indeed arguably helps it by drawing attention to it.

According to this article today, Lyon is "committed to the Saints."

Whatever that means.

He hasn't said "I'll be coaching at St Kilda next year."

Some might see that as splitting hairs, but I think his wording is quite deliberate to leave an opening.

In any case, the article goes on to say:

He said the team didn't rate itself on talent, but rather on effort.

Whatever you think of Lyon, I think this is the sort of attitude we need to bring to the club.

I mentioned this on the new coach post - I for one will be dark on Scully is he leaves as I found his presser in March unambiguous - " i want to be a one club player and envisage that will be the case, can see where we are going," He even answered how he can turn down the money. I am not sure how he can turn his back on his statements in the press conference.

On the other hand - look at what Ross Lyon has said - a complete "non denial" denial.

He's chasing the extension, plain and simple.

The get out clause in his contract must have some very specific items that St Kilda can't offset with a 1 year extension. Would be an interesting read.

That's my take on it.

Betting on sport is safer than betting on politics...

Why sport has more integrity than politics

Always easier to get what you want when there is another suitor at the front the door.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
