I agree about looking to 2012, but in the interets of optimism, note the following:

1. The President is with us

2. New modern training facilites open

3. DEBT FREE

4. The great G. Lyon is football director

5. Jack Watts

6. Jack Trengove

7. Opportunity to now try a new EXPERIENCED senior AFL coach - first since 1981

8. The core playing group is young enough still to be moulded

9. Stefan Martin

Have I missed anything???

All the above seems to get lost on sow many supporters, who think after the turnover of our list a switch can just be flicked.

Yeah it probably was a bit harsh to put Bartram in with Scully and Morton. I know he has a crack but after 5 or so seasons you would have thought his kicking would have improved.

It would be nice for Todd to coach a win. It will be interesting to see the crowd numbers though

I will be there! Missed the Tiggies game but am raring to go for this one!

Don't care if it is the last Scully game. If he goes he goes. Barassi going to Carlton was a bigger travesty.

I'll be attending for sure!!! Don't take the Gold Coast Suns lightly AT ALL!!! I want the Dees up and firing like none other - its been a tumultuous past month!!! FIRE UP!!! LET YOUR DEMON OUT!!!

Congrats to Tommy McDonald on his debut and well done on Nev Jetta on getting a gig at long last after a looooong stint injured and at VFL level.

A kick on the 'G after the game adds value to attending - I love it and it's a tradition that needs to be brought back more often!

Farewell also to Scully and Morton is at hand.

If we lose... heaven forbid... our club may not have ANYONE willing to coach them!

Theres not many things better than a kick on the G after a Melbourne win when your a kid. I used to go out there and imagine what it would be like to be A Jakovich. How big the ground was and how high the stands were with the footys and the seagulls and the rubbish swirling around in the dusk. Id forgotten what its like but i cant go this weekend so if you can take your kids and let them dream, maybe Jurrah can turn it on and kick a bag. Ill be watching on TV probably in a pub in Hedland.     Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill.     Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
