Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Eade = Director of Coaching at Collingwood, Malthouse = Dees!

Julian De Stoop on Fox Sports news just suggested that Eade could possibly end up being director of coaching at Collingwood should Malthouse want to coach next year.

He said that Eade was planning on going into that role in 2004 before he took charge at the dogs.

If this happened, Malthouse would almost certainly end up at the dees!

He also suggested that if Malthouse was to stay at Collingwood for next year that Viney may see us through the 2012 season and then hopefully get Malthouse the following year.

Would like to hear your thoughts...

Yep good idea except I would like to see some top line assistants come with him and effectively one of them take over when Mick achieves the altimate success and or he decides he has had enough very similar to the Buckley / malthouse deal exxept the club get the best coach available now and develop the next coach for the future?

Malthouse will not coach in 2012, does not want to (unless it's the pies) if by some miracle we were to snag him I fear he would not be 100% as he clearly wants to stay on at coaching the pies and he would be coaching us somewhat against his will (see malcom blight st Kilda)

He needs to take a year off minimum and would be a great coach in 2013.

Think about it Collingwood most likley play and win 2011 GF 1st week in October. Would he be in right headspace to begin pre season with us in the last week of October?? , have done enough research on players , drafting etc to ensure we get most of 2012. I think not

Viney will not coach in 2012 said so already, again why have someone coaching who does not really want to

Hird stated several times last year that he wouldn't coach Essendon in 2011. It makes me laugh when people take these statements as fact, they may be but it's just as likely they're rubbish. It is completely implausible for MM to declare his interest in any other job until Collingwoods season is over.

couldn't agree more!

can you imagine the filthy reactions of collingwood supporters if it was clear malthouse was leaving at years end.

he has no other alternative than to say he will not be coaching in 2012.

stay positive dees supporters, there is still a possibility of malthouse being at the helm next year regardless of what any collingwood authority says.

Sheahan mentioned Eade as possible football director of coaching role in this article. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/seven-year-itch-needed-scratching-at-the-bulldogs/story-e6frf9jf-1226117057049

No doubt the media are in a 'buzz' with this one.

If he is overlooked by Melbourne and Adelaide, might he end up at Collingwood in 2012 in the director of coaching role designated for Michael Malthouse, one Malthouse won't fulfill?

Ironically, it was Malthouse who courted Eade for that specific role in 2004, a plan thwarted by the Bulldogs' decision to appoint him.

...you mean, they don't have a clue what wil happen and are wildly speculating based on the tiniest, most insignificant details, right?

Sounds like the Scully situation all over again.

I'm quite sure that Malthouse would know every teams list to a fair extent. Isn't that part of being a senior coach - knowing your opponents?

Best event to get Malthouse is for Pies to not win Premiership and to add fuel to the fire in Micks belly having got so close like in 2002. Buckley refuses to stay in background for another 12 months leaving Mick with the option of taking up the reigns elsewhere.

Sheahan marry's up an instance back in '04 and they run with it. Involves MM, RE, Collingwood and Eddie and sells.

Julian De Stoop has his hand on it. If he doesn't stop it, he'll go blind.

When he's not fantasising about AFL coaches, he probably imagines Miranda Kerr knocking on his front door wanting to know if the hot sports reporter lives there.

He should stick to playing with his footy cards rather than playing the "AFL coaches" version of dreamteam.

that is a ridiculous comment to make...it's his job to speculate and to suggest possible outcomes.

obviously he's not going to say things will "definitely" or "certainly" happen because that would just be foolish, hence i wrote "if" and "could".

dont be so critical mate.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
