I know that the way they line up is not often reflected in these published sides but I do not understand Bennell on a HBF.

I am no rap for him but it seems to me his best games have been when playing in the forward line.

Why the HBF?

Are we crucifying the kid?

Tell me all you admirers out there.

Whats with the HBF?

JB started with Melbourne on the HBF and it is one of the best positions on the ground to run yourself into form and thereby improve confidence.

It's a big day today for Vic Country Under 18 rep and Gippsland Falcons ruckman Shaun Marisic who debuts for the Casey Scorpions seniors as 23rd player.

Haha Gippsland Falcons use the round ball and haven't been anything bigger than a local team in over a decade. Think you might have meant Gippsland Power.

This may surprise you but I actually feel sorry for the kid.

The last couple of games he has looked like a lost little boy to me.

Hope of couple of games at Casey gives him his confidence back as he looks like he has zero at present.

Unfortunately I don't think he is up to AFL standard.

If that is correct and there are plenty on here who would howl me down

It must be awful if that feeling hits home to you!

Hope he improves

I don't feel he is up to it either...

Davey didnt play from what i saw.

Is it possible that he only played a half?

Not good news if he didn't get up for this match!

I got there at Qtr time and left at 3 Qtr time, I don't think he played. Can't see him playing against the Hawks next week.

Aaron Davey didn't play - name wasn't on the team sheet!

Johnston not in the bests? Doubt he will be around next year.

Cameron Johnston was not in the bests for the reserves because he played in the seniors.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
