I can honestly say bp has never passed my lips DC. However a bottle of French bubbles was much more successful even if I could not afford petrol for week.

For such a boring hole it has received too much attention. Keith Richards hid out there for a while.

No danger of anyone  recognising him.

They should sell it off to the CCP.

Ooops .Too late

I had a selection of quality wines that never failed to induce romance. In addition to Mateus Rose, favourites included Ben Ean Moselle, Cold Duck and Blue Nun. All within the budget too. Suited all locations including confined spaces and spillage was not a problem. Although, I was surprised when one beautiful young student was less than impressed and opted for Stones Ginger Wine.

Jesus Ernie, you've named some classics in that lot. Back in the day, I tried them all for nefarious purposes but Stones ...... FMD ... we used to have a swig at 3/4 time on really cold days.

Can't say that it improved my footy though!

I’ve been a member of DL for many years. I don’t understand what this thread is about and at this stage I’m too afraid to ask.

Don't be too concerned Smokey - even the [censored] who have been posting for years don't know what it's about!

' Take a pair of sparkling eyes

take a pair of ruby lips

take a sparkling Porphyry Pearl '

mmmm delish but my alcohol of choice in the early days was, sadly, Brandivino.

Yep the old Stones used to warm you up at 1/2 time.

Don't forget the Bacardi and Coke for our fairer sex in those day. Never failed!!

I think I speak for all 3 of us when I say not everyone has a spare 6 hours to listen to it.

Can I recommend an obscure Swedish band from the 60s/70s named Harvester and their excellent album Hemat.

Not joking.

Seriously good anthemic Sauna music.

Arrh Biffen! You have this wonderfully arcane knowledge of music.

Pity you have no friends to share it with!!!!!

I worked with a charming young lady 20 years ago from Cockermouth in UK check it out! 😁........... who loved Porphyry Pearl and was a rabid SWEET fan. Get her onto the turps and she became very conversational!

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
