I for one have been guilty of some negativity around here, but mainly frustration, but today was a bloody rippa and my positive for today was Maxy Gawns effort on the HFF that set up Trenners goal, inspirational stuff like that will lift our young Dee's to greater things in the not to distant future.

One positive per post, lets c how many we can get.

I really liked Jack Watts' game today. Another preseason and he will be taking 10+ marks per game. His vision and ground level skills is amazing for a 196cm key forward.

Jeremy Howe also impressed with his marking. 12 marks and great disposal is encouraging for a first year player. I am just waiting for him to take a hanger! He has really taken over Brad Miller's position, with the added bonus of solid field kicking and decision making.

Baileys recruiting and coaching .Anyone?

I actually think the players managed to play the way Bailey wants them to play (as they did against Essendon and Adelaide). Once they develop enough experience/game time, develop their skills further and grow into their bodies, they will be able to apply the same sort of pressure to the power teams like Collingwood and that is when we will see them vying for a flag... under coach Bailey!

Cudos to Bailey.

Just watched the coaching video from a few weeks ago again. Our Forward/Mids need to be super fit to win against top teams.

But when it works it can be very powerful.

I wasn't being sarcastic about switcher .I agree with nearly every decision he has made ( including Jmac) .The heat will be on if we keep turning in the second ( [censored] weeks) away games but he didn't go for short term options like days of yore .Brian Wilson ,Kelvin T , Peter Moore ,Jacko ,and all the other short term gratification moves we have made have failed badly .Can I get a bet on for 100-1 for 2013 flag?I'll have a hundred on it easy .

GAWN! Im telling you he is a cult hero already. So happy to see him kick his 1st goal and that pressure he applied to set up Trenners was awesome. Also he sat a few freo players on there backsides.

Howe- Awesome match and magnificent dtrong hands and kicked a couple

Green- Finally a captains game. He still missed a few that he would have got last year bit 5 goals is good and hopefully he can back it up

Watts- 24 possies or similar to that and kicked 3 goals and his use of the footy around the ground was great.

Stef Martin- 3 goals and great work around the ground and his ruck work

McKenzie- Just love him. His tackling, his pressure and isnt afraid to go in hard for the ball

Just everything about the match was great. We just need to come out and do the same stuff next week.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
