Clear out the 50.

Let him perform

The feather foot

:-)

I think Liam will be under quite a bit of scrutiny this week. He's got to run harder, lead again and again (even when it's not honoured) and put in some second and third efforts to tackle and apply pressure in our forward line.

I'd rather see him do that than kick 5 snapped goals and take mark of the year.

Doesn't matter if he kicks 10, if he won't do the team things, like chasing hard nad banging bodies and tackling, he's No use to us as a footballer going forward.

We'd still have exactly the sqme problem we've had in the past with other medium forwards that just wanted to do the limelight step, and not put forwardline Pressure.

Forwardline pressure has always Been the domain of the BIG Game winner! Jurrah Is Not.... so far

I heard somewhere not sure where hasn't he been carrying a calf strain?

I'd be happy with three and like others some real defensive effort.

Same goes for Petterd if he plays forward really need to show some

Defensive will when they haven't got the ball.

He has, well, at least he's been playing with a Bandage on it... But he's still crossed that famous White Line & hasn't even caught a sniffle, Let Alone the fever! By the Way, how many years with AFL clubs now???

Yep, Diablo, the same with Peterd, but he may get pushed higher tomorrow, he's been playing high & mid, so they may want to test him in the clinches.

You have all got it wrong.

We have A goal kicker.

Let him kick goals, and let bennel tackle.

If capper and modra can kick a century, so csn jurrah if given tje opportunity. And dont tell me modern football is different . I wont buy it.

Great and we'll just let the other team waltz out of their defence much like they have been all year shall we?

I dont understand how he could be picked against the premiers if injured . Hope I don't sound culturally insensitive but he needs to spear a few this week , as well as drag some some back to the fire .And he has to hunt and kill his own as well as share with the tribe .We need him to be DEADLY ....

Agreed . Everbody tackles all the time . No exceptions .

Why 8?

All the team really needs from Liam Jurrah is a return to the dangerous player he was on Melbourne's forward line late last year and in some games earlier this year. Over the past month, he's been more or less ineffective, giving us one less avenue of attack and opposition teams one less player to worry about. Of course, that just about epitomises our forward set up at present.

So, what we need is a KillamanJurrah? :)

It is not that he doesn't want to- he can't- not fit enough-needs at least another two pre sesons to fully mature his body, fitness thus chase accordingly.

One of the biggest criticisms of Fev was his unwillingness to chase and tackle.

If your not willing to go when its your turn the entire team is let down. A slack forward

Will be carved up by a running defender every day of the week if their not willing to tackle.

Jurrah will never kick 100 he is a 3rd tall 50 to 80 a year would be ideal.

I think that is one of the issues. We clear out the forward line, problem is the players forget to go back there when we have the ball, then we do what the crowd calls for "Kick it long" but wait nobody is home.

The old saying "The light is on but nobody is home" doesn't even apply, cos there aint no light either.

I would like to see us at least keep Jurrah or Howe in the forward 50 all day, so there is always at least one marking option in there at all times.

Wont happen though.

C'mon JCB that is just letting the guy off far too easily.

I watched Liam pretty closely the past few weeks. Lots of hands on hips and static ball watching type stuff. Too much of it. And he wasn't breathing hard either.

Lead hard Liam. And lead often!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
