Credit where it is due

Not gonna go too in depth atm cause I'm enjoying this game too much, but some players who have fairly copped some criticism recently deserve some praise. Green, NevJet, Morton, Rivers, Bennell, Jurrah, Martin and Jones. I wanted to write this now, because I think regardless of the result from here, they still deserve the praise

You're preaching to the long converted here hardtack. I am just SO happy to finally see them playing like this. And on my birthday to boot, makes it all the sweeter!

Happy birthday.... 5 goals lead going into the last; it's theirs for the taking if they want it bad enough.

And I'm talking all credit as I tipped the Bummers to win knowing that would play in our favour :-)

where's sylvia?

You've not been watching the game? He was subbed off with a badly corked thigh.

Haha, thanks mate. I won platinum dining passes with the NSW Demons player sponsorship, and had a choice of this week, or next. Almost wishing I had gone for this week now, would have been great. Although with the way our new kids have stood up, we might have a good dip next week.

We haven't won yet.

You are right, but the whole point of the thread, if you read it, is that regardless of the result the boys deserve some cred for the way they have gone about it.

What I am liking is that you can see the deep respect that Bailey has for those players and the feeling is so obviously reciprocated.

You're right. I've never seen that before, because for some reason Bailey has tried to hide it. It is really good to see, and great to see him reacting with passion to what was a great win.

Can we finally get it that Bailey is a development coach of a young side, he has their respect and he has a plan

30 tackles between McKenzie, Scully, Trengove and Gysberts. I like our future midfield.

Yup, was great to watch.

I've been praising him all season, but even I was surprised to hear tonight that he has been averaging something like 28 disposals over the past few weeks.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
