Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Brad Scott backs Trengove verdict

Martin Boulton article on the Trengove appeal in today's Age has a final quote from Scott backing the verdict. No vested interest at all of course. Must be running scared that Trenners will carve them up. Hopefully this fires boys up even more - norf really have this sense that they own us and will beat us any place, any where, any time. Screw that, unleash hell lads.

Brad Scott is a peanut. Fighting to make his club and himself relevant. Losing battle.

I honestly think North will either be merged, Tasmanian or dead within five years. Staying in Melbourne has always been a losing battle for them.

Unfortunate, but it's the way it is.

Yeah he was on SEN saying something like it was a completely unfair tackle resulting in an injured player and he saw no reason for even argument and Melbourne should just get on with it.....well see you on Sunday Bwad.

Don't know about you, but I'll be seeing him on Saturday.

Persoanlly I didnt think that's what he was saying, at least going by what was shown on the hundreds of news reports about it. Rather I took it as him saying don't take it out on the MRP, but rather subtly hinting it was the fault of the laws comittee and the AFL for introducing the rule.

That's how I read what he was saying.

I was more incensed that Wayne Schimmelbusch got to make the decision before a Demons / Roos game.

Correct, that is what he said. Actually somewhat helpful as it is another person saying the rule is wrong.

My opinion of Sam Mitchell has just risen enormously; that's really puttin' 'em on the line!

No surprise really.

The players would even more confused than they usually are.

Can't pin an arm and try to stop them kicking it? So I have to attack the hips, forget about the arm and let them handball?

It really was the 'perfect tackle' but Dangerfield couldn't care less about his own safety and brought his own imbalance and his own concussion.

Two players contributed to a concussion - I say Trengove started the action, and Dangerfield made it into the 'attack' that Faptrick Smith calls it...

Jack the Patsy...

Why doesn't Patrick Dangerfield come out and support Trengove? Too much pride I would have thought.

That's exactly what I want to know.

If he comes out and supports Trengove that could be very important in getting him off.

The best thing he can do by 5.30pm this arvo is be named in the Crows lineup at 5pm...

I have the greatest respect for Wayne Schimmelbusch as well and no doubt his allegiance to Norf had nothing to do with his decision but whatever happened to the principle about "justice seeing to be done".

As a former player of the club agaisnt who the Dees are playing this week, should he not have removed himself from the tribunal?

The best thing we can do is win the next 3 games regardless, that's what good clubs would do and it's time we did it.

I see where you're going with this. Interesting. Winning games...they get you into the finals! And that's where Flags are won!

But we must find the Jade Monkey before the next full moon...

We found it?!

It's all falling into place...

I know you are saying "good teams get on with it."

But the rest of us are saying "good teams don't let political [censored] steal one of our players for three weeks as an example."

I've never liked Brad Scott. He just seems like a bit of a [censored].

Agreed. I'm glad Bailey doesn't go out of his way to comment on the afl politics with the media like B.Scott does.

God I hope we smash them this week.

Couldn't believe my eyes this morning when reading the hun when there is Brad Scott whining that Melbourne can't use injuries or suspensions as an excuse when they've ( kangaroos ) have had players unavailable all year. What is it with this club ? Just worry about what you're doing Kangaroos and stop worrying about us. Last years whinging was bad enough

Although Scott's whining can often drown out a 747 I like it. I like seeing that increasingly irrelevant club put up it's hand in a vain hope somebody will notice it.

Whine away Nth. Mention us all you want. Cry about how people care about what we do and nobody - even your supporters - cares about what you do. Stamp your foot and complain that you are the Port of the Victorian teams but without the history. Want to be us while realising you will never be able to.

It's as predictable as it is funny.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
