Because some anonymous punter rang MMM......

I think I'll wait to hear a little more from the man and the club. Disappointing if true.

I agree. If the facts are brought down and what has been alleged has occurred then I cant see how a senior player, VC and one who is high profile can be given a "there there".

At the moment we have a MMM talkback caller. Lets see what's traspired.

Urinating in a public place/venue is a disgusting and disgraceful act. If proven he should be held accountable for it.

Completely agree with you, Beamer is one of my favourite players but if what's alleged proves to be true he should be given a holiday, possibly even stepped down from being a VC. We still have a very young team and we must steadfastly stick to our player conduct policies, which this would certainly be a breach.

Of course, at the moment all we have is a caller from Tripple M so I'm sure the club will do a thorough investigation.

Right, so everyone here was there and saw it happen? Geeze listen to you all, judge jury and executioner and all that's happened is someone called in Triple M and said they saw this. FFS it could have been anyone, how about we wait and hear some facts first??

If true, i'd drop him for three weeks, not the behaviour you want from a VC.

He has been great this year but he needs to lead through actions.

The one thing that i picked up from attending training a cupla times over summer was that he loves to tell people what to do.

If he doesn't follow through with his actions that would really s*^t me as a team mate.

Seriously pathetic. He is not 18 anymore and it's unacceptable to behave like that, especially when you are a vice captain.

Why was he out so late after a game anyway!

Ugh like we really need that. I suppose that is why he isn't captain.

Or his disappointment at being overlooked for the captaincy is a part of whats caused him, to do this.

Somethings going on, thats unsettling him. We don't know what that is. Only that this sounds way out of charachter for Beamer.

Legend, kills it on the footy field and obviosuly hammers the [censored] too! :P

Yeah, terrific... not! I hope you were being sarcastic, but if not, and hammering the [censored] meets your definition of "legend" status, then I'm afraid that might say more about you than him.

Beamer is a professional athlete and as such should be looking after himself a bit better - great on-field decision maker, very poor off-field decision maker. He should get a fine AND a week's suspension if proven guilty - the real worry though is, who else was with him, and if other players were there, why were they out on the turps (or not) at that hour after a game? After winning a GF, yes, maybe acceptable... but after a scrappy victory in a game against a cellar dweller, definitely not!

The "out of character" and "don't penalise the team" mentatlity are both poor excuses and I would be disappointed if the club acted in that manner. Sylvia was penalised for a late night not drinking, so Moloney should be suspended if he's guilty. I don't want the culture of our club compromised because Beamer is an important player. As a vice captain he should know better.

If he's guilty , he has to be stripped of the vice captaincy - and suspended for a long time.

Dreadful news for the club. Just hope he has a lookalike with a weak bladder!!

You can't be serious.

I know men can be idiots and find it hard to deal with emotions/ hard situations and so they normally run away or lash out, but I've never heard of a guy urinating in public because he was angry or upset.

Whichever way you look at it his behavior is unacceptable and sets a terrible example for the sort of behavior we expect from our players.

I hope the club punishes him accordingly. Very very poor form.

If what is alledged is fact it will be a test for the leadership group of which he is apart off. The first thing would be kick him out of the leadership group, you can't have a leader of your club doing this. That would hurt Beamer more than any suspension.

And drdanke, Cam Schwab confirmed everything apart from that the urinated which he was unsure on.

Cam Schwab has just confirmed that Moloney was out late last night, inroxicated and his behaviour was un-expectable, Not good, His punishment still to come

it was on SEN

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
